[Little girl cries]
Kushina: Hurry, we have to get out of this pass before the weather gets worse!

[Large rumbling, rocks begin to fall down the slope towards a small group of what appears to be older people and children]
Kushina: Tajuu Kage bunshin no jutsu!

[50 clones appear between the mountainside and the hooded travelers]
All 51 Kushina’s make the water sign at once: Ascending Whirlpool Wall!

[51 spinning geyers sprout out from the rock face, making a curved shield over the head of all the travelers, the boulders hit the water and are flung overhead and down the cliff]
Kushina: Everyone, get out of here, the rocks are first and the mountain comes next, if you don’t get going we’ll all be crushed!

Unidentified woman: Kushina-sama! If you stay you’ll be crushed!
Kushina: Don’t worry about me, I still have an important task ahead of me, I won’t die here!
Little girl: Kushina-sama!!!
Kushina: We’ll meet again! I won’t break my word!
[The little girl is pulled away by the others and we see a hidden grass headband on one of the travelers, though they’re too old to be an active ninja, the next frame has a huge landslide overwhelming the wall of water]

[Scene cuts to Naruto shedding a tear and sniffing, he and Kakashi have stopped and put Karin down to hear her story]
Karin: And that was the last time I heard Uzumaki Kushina-sama’s voice… she saved over a hundred lives that day and I haven’t heard anything about her since… :tears pour down her face:
Kakashi: That does sound just like your mother, Naruto… and more than a little like you, too.
Naruto: Where were you when you that happened!? Kakashi-sensei, when we get back to the village, I would like permission to assemble a search party to locate…

Kakashi: Naruto… I understand how you feel…
Naruto: Sensei, I never had any parents growing up, and I only just found out who my father was after all these years. I need to look for any trace of my mother; I don’t need to ask for your permission, but if I had some people with me, it would go much faster and I’d be at less of a risk of getting in trouble…

Kakashi: Sigh, you’re right. This IS the wife of the 4th hokage we’re talking about. We all thought she died when your father sealed the Kyuubi, but if she lived on, it is just as important to the village that we find her. We’ll talk more when we get back to the village [picks Karin up]

Naruto: So let’s pick up the pace!
[Suigetsu is in a glass tank and Juugo is with him in a cell; lightning flashes out the cell window]
[Juugo is standing by the window and a bird lands on his hand]
Juugo: Kimimaro… I’m sorry; I failed your successor…

Suigetsu: [bubbles out his mouth] Keh, Sasuke sure has become a first class bastard, leading us into thatAkatsuki trap and letting us be caught by that Raikage and his friends.

Juugo: I wonder if Karin is alright.
Suigetsu: Fuck Karin, she didn’t help us at all either, for all her sensor abilities she sure didn’t see that Zetsuwas going to betray us like that.

Juugo: I don’t think Sasuke and Karin would leave us alone if the situation wasn’t so desperate.
Suigestsu: And whose fault is it that we went into the middle of the kage summit without any backup and immediately had our positions given away? I’m not saying Sasuke planned it, but he let it happen.

Juugo: Hey! There’s something going on out the window!
Suigestsu: Huh? I can’t see anything in this tank, can’t you break those shackles and get me out of here already?

Juugo: It’s the 8tailed beast… he’s talking to himself and carrying something really big… it’s that sword Kisame had!
Suigetsu: [perks up] !! Kisame-senpai, I knew you weren’t meant for samehada, to lose it to the 8tail, what a loser!

Juugo: The 8tail was the one who made your sword break, too…
Suigestsu: Shut up! Break me out of here so I can go get the sword! We’ll break out of here and get back at Akatsuki in no time! C’mon, Juugo, don’t be such a little bitch!

Juugo: [cursed seal starts to spread out] Guh, no… I don’t want to fight anymore! [cursed seal reaches his restraints, then releases]
Suigetsu: What happened? Weren’t you gonna flip out and go ninja and break me out of this?

Juugo: I… I’m not sure? This hasn’t happened before without Kimimaro or Sasuke to calm me down… these bracelets are made out of some chakra repellant material that must be stopping my transformation.

Suigetsu: Fuck! Just break me out then, and I’ll get those off you in no time, then we can go steal the Samehada and get out of here!

Juugo: I’ll let you out of the tank, but I’m not going with you. This is what I’ve always wanted, to be in control without risking my dark side getting out. [Smashes the tank and Suigetsu spills out]

Suigetsu: Suit yourself, good luck explaining how I got out of here. I’ll cut that Zetsu once for you, too.

[Suigetsu escapes through the bars of the cell, Juugo sighs and sits down on the bed]
[Cuts to scene with Bee leaning against a tree with Samehada next to him, he’s snoring]

Kisame: (thinking) God damn that hachibi is annoying, but now that he’s asleep and Samehada has taken most of his chakras, I just have to transform into water and leave the sword so I can take him down and call Madara to take him away… ?!

[Suigetsu begins to materialize up from a nearby stream, sneaking up towards the tree]
[Kisame drips out of Samehada and rematerializes in front of Suigetsu, covering his mouth]

Kisame: [whispering] Don’t make a sound unless you want to get us in deep shit.
Suigetsu: !? [pushes the hand away from his mouth] Kisame… I’m going to take your sword and peace the fuck out. If you want to fight me for it and wake up the hachibi, that’ll be your responsibility.

Kisame: God Damnit, I’m not going to let another punk use my sword! [Fuck! I was too loud, did he wake up!?]

[Bee stirs a little, mutters something like you idiot, you fool, then snores loudly]
Kisame: (thinking) I have to take this chance while I have it and cut off the hachibi’s legs, then I can deal with Suigetsu…

[Suigetsu is standing next to Kisame still but then the next frame Kisame is gone]
Suigetsu: (thinking) Crap, he’s fast! I can’t let him get a grip on the sword!

[Kisame reaches for the sword but leaps back at the last moment as Bee swings it right at his head]
Kisame: Fuck, you were just pretending to sleep!?

Bee: Hah, you little idiot, little fool, I don’t have to be awake to know there’s something about to attack me, that’s what I have my little friend for. [Samehada purrs] Neither do I need to see my enemy to know he’s not who he appears to be.

Kisame: Well now, I can’t let you keep going on thinking that sword belongs to you. You impress me to know that you hadn’t really defeated me, but know that I can’t forgive you stealing my Samehada! [makes handsigns] Seven Swordman Summoning!

[Samehada disappears out of Bee’s hand and appears in Kisame’s]

Kisame: Wow, you sure have collected a lot of chakra from this bijuu, let’s see how he likes a taste of his own medicine!

Hachibi: (internal bee dialogue] You idiot! I warned you about that sword, and now it’s taken too much of our chakra for us to to even try to dodge this, you’ve doomed us both!

[At the last moment, Bee is shoved out of the way and water splashes around him]
Bee: It’s you, the wet towel from the Akatsuki who tried to capture me with that Uchiha! What are you doing!?

Suigetsu: Keh, I can’t let it slide that Kisame would try to fight you before he fights me for the right to wield that sword. Besides, I’m not a part of Akatsuki, I was just hanging around Sasuke because he freed me, but he’s betrayed me just like the rest of those Akatsuki bastards have…

[Suigetsu rematerializes and so do several more Suigetsu from puddles around the tree]
Kisame: Little Suigetsu… I’ll show you how much more you’ve bitten off than you can chew.

489: Difficult decisions

Naruto is eating at Ichiruku Ramen while the cook watches with pride. Naruto notices and stops to look at him. The cook sees next to Naruto the image of Naruto as a small boy sitting on the stool having ramen. The cook then smiles as the image vanishes.
Cook: "I was just thinking back to when you were a small boy first coming here to have ramen for the first time."
Naruto: "Yeah those were good times."
Shikimaru then walks over and pulls up a seat next to Naruto.
Shikimaru: "The others are still shocked by what you said about Sasuke. Do you really think that he is that unbeatable."
The cook smiles and brings over some food for Shikimaru. Naruto looks down but then puts his food asside and turns to face Shikimaru.
Naruto: "Have you ever truly had to kill a friend or partner Shikimaru?"
Shikimaru: "Sasuke is no longer your friend or partner Naruto."
Naruto: "You dodged the question. Have you ever truly had to kill a friend or partner?"
Shikimaru thinking: "Where is he going with this?"
Naruto: "You haven't because like it or not you never have had to make that decision. Sakura was put to that same test as was Kakashi but in both cases they could not do it."
Shikimaru: "So you are saying that if it came down to killing Sasuke I would not be able to do it?"
Naruto: "You would hesitate like everyone else because like it or not you still are not able to put asside your respect for everyone else. Thus if you had to kill anyone else here you would hesitate just like Sakura did."
Shikimaru: "And when I hesitate Sasuke would kill me. I get what you are saying now. If any of us try to fight him we will only stop ourselves and try to take him alive. That is why Sasuke would have an advantage over us."
Naruto nods his head, takes a drink, and then looks at Shikimaru.
Shikimaru: "But what makes you so sure that you can do what we can not?"
Naruto: "Sasuke and I have always been rivals. Always on a competeing level to see who is better. I get strong and Sasuke gets stronger. When we fight we fight until there is almost nothing left to hold us back. We are both equal and in many ways the same so odds are that if and when we do fight again we will fight until neither of us is able to fight back which means either one of has killed the other or probably both of us are dead."
Shikimaru's eyes widen as he realizes what Naruto is implying.
Shikimaru: "I understand now. I wish I did not understand now but now I see the burden you carry. I will try to stop the others. If what you suggest is true than we would only be a burden to you when that time comes."
Naruto starts to eat Ramen again while Shikimaru looks at Naruto.
Shikimaru thinking: "Damn now I feel stupid. This is such a drag."

Kakashi is visiting Tsunade as she lays on her bed in her room. Tsunade looks up at Kakashi as he enters. Tsunade sits up while kakashi leans against the wall.
Tsunade: "Hokage?"
Kakashi: "I wouldn't have expected it to happen myself but it seems that is what everyone is leaning towards. The others villages agree on it. The other jonin think it is for the best. Even the elders are convinced. Whether I like it or not I am the next hokage."
Tsunade: "But do you think you can handle it?"
Kakashi: "There are larger problems for me to be concerned about than mere titles."
Tsunade: "Its Naruto isn't it? What happened?"
Kakashi sits down next to Tsunade and looks her straight in the face.
Kakashi: "It seems that history is repeating iself with the Sanin."
Tsunade: "So Sasuke has sunk that low huh?"
Kakashi: "There is no bringing him back any more. The only solution I can see as an end to this conflict is for Sasuke to die."
Tsunade: "And with Naruto being similar to Jiraiya, he is determined to face Sasuke to the end just as Jiraiya was willing to only that final conflict never happened."
Kakashi: "I just don't know if I can think of any way to stop it."
Tsunade flashes back to Jiraiya as a young boy as they were getting a picture taken altogether.
Tsunade: "Im sure you will think of something Hokage-sama. Now if you do not mind I need to get some rest. Im still recovering from the fight with pain."
Kakashi slowly leaves while Tsunade lays back down in her bed. As Tsunade falls assleep one last thought goes through her head as she flashes back to Jiraiya as she last saw him.
Tsunade thinking: "Oh if only you were here Jiraiya. You would know what to do."

Naruto is wandering through Konoha at night when he suddenly sees a distant looming shadow seem to reach out at him from a distance away. Suddenly snakes move all around him and restraining him as he sees Kabuto moving towards him from the distance. Naruto struggles to reach for his kunai. Kabuto waves his finger at him.
Kabuto: "Relax Naruto. I am not here to kill you. I come to you now as an ally seeking to offer you a deal in exchange for a favor."
Naruto: "What will this favor cost me exactly?"
Kabuto: "Removal of the bounty placed on my head by Konoha.
Naruto: "And in return what do I get?"
Kabuto: "The one weapon Orochimaru was gonna use if the power of the Uchiha was too great to eliminate by physical means."
Kabuto reveals a vial containing a purple fluid. Kabuto stands face to face with Naruto only an inch or two away from his face.
Kabuto: "A specificly designed genetic virus to do one thing and one thing only, rob the uchiha of the greatest weapon, their eyes."
Naruto reaches his kunai but suddenly he finds himself all alone on the street with no one in sight.
Kabuto: "That is my offer. I will await your decision."
490: Changing of the Guard

[People are running from a burning building, screaming is heard]

unknown narrator: Mom!! Dad!!
unknown man: Come on, we’ve got to go!! Those konoha shinobi will be back any moment!!
unknown woman: I’m not leaving without our son!
unknown man: If we don’t get out of here now, we’ll–

[Man is eviscerated, woman screams. Next frame, the woman is looking at the narrator, holding her hand out and saying "run..."]
[Danzo's stern face flashes by]

[frame is black, licking sound in the background]
[frame is still black]

Sakura: Akamaru, get off Sai! Kiba, wake up and take care of your dog!
[frame appears, Sakura is shaking Lee]
Sakura: Lee, Kiba, Sai, get up you guys, we’re going back to the village!
Sai: What… what happened??

Sakura: I… (thinks about how she failed to stop Sasuke) I’ll tell you all about it when we get back to the village
Sai: You weren’t able to stop him, were you?
Kiba: :groggily starts to wake up: What? Stop who? Where’s my dog biscuits…
Lee: (jumps up) Sai! How dare you interfere with our mission to stop Sasuke!
Sai: I only wanted to protect you guys…

Sakura: [interrupting] Lee, Kiba, Sai, I’m sorry. It’s all my fault, I didn’t mean to hurt you, but we have to hurry back to the village now, Kakashi and Naruto went on ahead.
Sai: As long as everyone’s alright, I’m relieved.. (wipes off his brow, wonders again why he’s sweating if he isn’t supposed to feel any emotions, remembers for a brief moment the face of the woman holding out her arm to him)

Kabuto scene
[Kabuto is running down a hall and looking into a room]

Kabuto (thinking): It has to be around here somewhere..
[Kabuto looks into the next room and sees a bunch of bookshelves]

Kabuto (thinking): Aha, it must be there with the rest of the scrolls. These Waterfall ninja sure have been cooperative to tell me the correct building… I guess it didn’t hurt that I used one of Orochimaru’s jutsu on them [kukuku].. now, which one is it
[Kabuto is going through the scrolls]

Anko scene
Anko (thinking): What are you doing in the waterfall village, Kabuto?? Did you think Orochimaru left one of his experiments here?

[rustling leaves catch her attention]
[Anko throws a kunai into the bush]
Anko: Come out, I know you’re in there, dogs of Danzou!

[shinobi are seen in the shadows]
masked shinobi #1: We should’ve known one of orochimaru’s disciples would’ve detected us.
masked shinobi #2: It’s no matter.. we should just take her out like danzo ordered.
Anko: If you think I’ll go down so easily, you’ve got another thing coming!

[The unknown shinobi are engulfed in a genjutsu, snakes swirl all around them, hissing and spitting venom that melts through their masks as they scream]
Anko: Now, tell me about Danzo.

Killer Bee scene
Bee (thinking): Oi, now I gotta come up with some stuff that rhymes with shark so I can make full use of this new sword I have.

Hachibi: God, why can’t you just give the rap thing a break. I’m tired too, can’t you just sleep so I can recover my chakras?

Bee (thinking): This sword’s just holding onto them for you, can’t you tell? If I go to sleep with this thing, who knows what might happen! I guess I should put it in brothers armory for now…

Hachibi: Don’t you notice something strange about this sword, Bee?

Bee (thinking): Strange? Thing’s crazy! It steals your enemy’s chakra and becomes bigger and heavier because of it! I can’t wait to try it out in the proving grounds, I hope brother lets me go..

Hachibi: That’s not it. I sense more than just the samehada chakra in this. We should have it inspected by a sensor so we know what it’s capable of before we leave it alone somewhere.

Bee (thinking): You’re just overthinking it, don’t have a cow, cow-man!

[Bee leans against a rock and leans the sword down next to him]
Bee (thinking): I haven’t had a rest since that uchiha kid made me go all out

Hachibi: He made you go all out!? You can’t lie to me, Bee, you were just having fun at my expense!

Bee (thinking): You never want me to have any fun, whether it’s rapping or fighting you’d rather just sit around and chew cud. Now just gimme a break while I nap..

Hachibi: Fine, but don’t blame me when this sword goes all haywire on you!

Sasuke and Madara scene:
[Madara is walking down a dark hall, Sasuke behind him with a dim light at the end of the tunnel behind them]
Madara: It’ll take a week for you to adjust to your new eyes, after the transplant. I need to know that you will take it easy and relax until then.

Sasuke: Keh, worry about yourself. I’ll be able to tell when I’m ready to fight again.

Madara: I know you think you will be, but there’s still more you will need to know to use the EMS effectively. Like I said, you’ve been using Susano’o far too liberally, and there are tricks you can use to extend your stamina.

Sasuke: I thought you said this EMS had no degredation.

Madara: Just because you won’t wear out the eyes, doesn’t mean you won’t wear out your body if you overuse them like you have been. You used to rely on the cursed seal and then orochimaru’s essence, but now that you’re free of those shackles, you have to learn to use less costly techniques if you want to be able to defeat your enemy.

Sasuke: Just give me the eyes and I’ll kill Naruto and then stomp the fire out of the leaf village.

Madara (thinking): I’m glad he’s so enthusiastic about this fight, I was worried that Kyuubi boy might have learned the secret of 16 years ago and used it to sway Sasuke but it’s clear there’s no way he could be changed now.. kukuku

Naruto scene
Naruto: Kakashi, I’ve wanted to ask you something ever since I fought with Pain.
Kakashi: ?

Karin (thinking): Uzumaki Naruto… defeated Madara’s most powerful soldier, Pain, all by himself… This guy has more chakra than I’ve ever felt before..
Naruto: What was my father like… you know, before he was responsible for the village?

Kakashi: Your father… the fourth hokage was the wisest, bravest shinobi who had a heart as large as your own. He was my leader, my role model, the person I would like to have emulated most of all the shinobi in the village. Everyone knew he would become hokage when he came of age..

Karin (thinking): Even his father was hokage!? I’d heard stories about the fourth hokage and how it used to be if you saw him on the battlefield, everyone was ordered to run, but I never heard anything about his son…

Naruto: Well, what I mean is, did he ever have friends? What about his companions and family, whatever happened to them? I was raised alone, and noone even told me my dad was hokage. Did that mean nobody even knew I was going to be born?

Kakashi: Well, your father spent much of his youth outside the village, learning techniques from the toads and from the elders in your mothers’ village. Most of his close friends were from there, now that I think about it…

Naruto: My mothers’ village? I haven’t heard anything about that place, where is it?

Kakashi: It doesn’t exist anymore. The village of whirlpools used to be a beautiful place in the south, with rich farm lands that stretched from shore to shore, with wildlife teeming everywhere. But it was lost in the war…

Naruto: What about the rest of my family? My mother, my relatives, where are they?
Kakashi: No one knows what happened to Kushina when Minato sealed the Kyuubi, we all assumed she died that day…

Naruto: But you don’t know for sure!?
Karin: Once upon a time, I met a woman a lot like you… Naruto…
Kakashi and Naruto: !?!

488: The path of strength

Sasuke is laying in a hospital bed sweating profusely writhing in pain as he grips his hands around a bandage on his eye. Madara is watching nearby as the process takes place. Sasuke leans up to look at Madara while gripping the rails on the side of his bed.
Sasuke: "How long is this process going to take? I never thought there would be so much pain involved."
Madara: "For me it took years to completely eliminate the pain but you never truly get past it some times."
Sasuke: "What is happening to me?"
Madara: "Right now your chakra network is undergoing an intense strain as it attempts to adapt itself to unlimited usage of the mangekyo sharingan. During that time your body will rewire your chakra network so that pathways near the upper part of your body are stronger while the rest are significantly lessened. This way the amount of chakra you can access is signficantly increased as is the regeneration process."
Sasuke: "So I will be even stronger than before?"
Madara: "To a degree yes but you must remember that chakra strength doesnt mean physical strength. In that department Naruto far exceeds you which is why you must keep the fight at a distance when possible otherwise Naruto will easily be able to defeat you."
Sasuke thinking: "I will kill you this time Naruto."
Sasuke screams in agony as veins begin to bulge near his eyes.

Naruto is laying in bed when he hears a tapping sound on his window. Naruto curiously looks out the window to see Fukusaku and Ma Toad. Naruto opens the window in surprise as they come in and sit next to him.
Fukusaku: "I heard about what is happening with Sasuke and Madara. You are heading into a dangerous situation."
Naruto: "I know. Im certain I can beat Sasuke but Im not so sure about Madara. I just can't hit him."
Fukusaku: "Madara is indeed a difficult opponent but that is why I have come here. I have come to give you this."
Fukusaku hands Naruto a scroll and he opens it to reveal some kind of odd map. Fukusaku points to an inscription at the top as Naruto opens the map.
Naruto: "This is my final will and testament to my young sons. If you are reading this than my efforts to defeat the juubi have failed. I made this scroll as a possible way for you to carry on my legacy and defeat the evil that has befallen us. Atop the mountain in this map is a cave containing all my knowledge I acquired from my years of training. If you wish to follow in my footsteps than you are best to visit this cave."
Fukusaku: "I had long believed that there would never be a need to unearth such a holy place as a depository of knowledge from the first sage but if there is a way to defeat Madara this place will help you find that."
The door to Naruto's room opens to reveal Kakashi and Yamoto. Kakashi looks at Fukusaku and then at the map.
Kakashi: "What is this?"
Fukusaku closes up the map and looks up at Kakashi. Fukusaku has a stern look on his face as does Ma Toad.
Fukusaku: "This map is only for those of the chosen path to see."
Kakashi: "I was just curious. I overheard what Naruto was talking about and wondered what was on that map."
Fukusaku: "Naruto I think the time has come for us to leave. You can not trust information like this to others. Ma are you ready?"
Ma Toad nods her head while Kakashi reaches for the map.
Fukusaku: "Reverse summoning Jutsu!"
Suddenly an explosion of smoke occurs as Kakashi tries to wipe away the smoke to reveal Naruto is gone with Fukusaku, Ma Toad, and the map.
Kakashi: "So do you think that map could in fact have been something from the first sage?"
Yamoto: "Its possible but then how are we gonna explain this to the others. Naruto has gone off on a treasure hunt?"
Kakashi: "Naruto has gone off to train at Myobuzokan."

Naruto finds himself with Ma and Pa toad at a small valley with a huge mountain in the distance.
Naruto: "Where are we? Is this it?"
Fukusaku: "This is as far as we have been able to go in terms of finding what is at the end of the map. The trouble is finding the cave which is suggested in there. It seems to be almost impossible to find."
Naruto: "I think I can fix that."
Naruto summons several hundred clones and they begin to search the mountain. The clones are searching all over when one of them suddenly disperses for no reason. The others investigate and suddenly Naruto smiles as he looks at Fukusaku.
Naruto: "Found it. It seems to have some kind of barrier jutsu protecting the entrance though so I can't get in."
Fukusaku and Ma Toad climb on Naruto's shoulders.
Fukusaku: "Lets all go to there."
Naruto climbs up the mountain and nearly falls once but manages to make it to the cave. Naruto looks at the entrance and Ma Toad looks at Naruto with an odd stare.
Ma Toad: "Something on you is glowing."
Naruto reaches over into his pocket and pulls out the map which is glowing.
Fukusaku: "The map must be the way past the barrier."
Naruto touches the map to the barrier and suddenly it vanishes away revealing a small cave with a lot of books and scrolls. Suddenly a movement occurs from the other end of the cave. An old voice calls out.
Voice: "Is that you boys? I have been awaiting a long time for you. What took you so long to....Hey who are you?!"
Out in the distance a large figure walks forward. A large turtle walks forward on its hind legs towards them.
Turtle: "Who are you and what are you doing here? This place is only meant for decendants of the first sage."
Fukusaku: "We came here in search of the knowledge of first sage."
The Turtle walks over and looks at Fukusaku.
Turtle: "Ahh now I can see you better. Ahh two decendants of the toad ninjas. I can see it was a good idea after all to train your people. And this is..."
The turtle looks Naruto in the eye and suddenly he jumps back in surprise his eyes wide with shock.
Turtle: "My great sincere apologies. I didn't recognize it after so many centuries of breeding. A decendant of the Senju. Im glad at least someone of your bloodline made it here instead of Uchiha."
Fukusaku: "And who are you exactly?"
Turtle starts to laugh and then winks at them.
Turtle: "I am just like you only several generations removed. I am the first turtle sage. The pet of the First Sage. I am Leatherhide."

Kakashi's Thoughts


Kakashi looks out from the window into the horizon. The day is already at an end and the sun is setting down. He can see the shadows of Konoha gates creeping longer and longer towards Konoha. Today, he has seen to the preparations of the gates defenses. It is a very tiring day indeed.

Gate defense logistics and watch assignments have to be monitored and kept recorded. Kakashi has to see to it personally. Such was the work one cannot afford to neglect. But even though it has busied his schedule for the whole day, his mind was on totally different matters.

Tsunade. When will she wake up? His assignment as hokage hasn't been formalized still. It has been a week since their arrival at Konoha, but things are not going smoothly with the remaining 2 elders. Ironic that they want an immediate replacement of Tsunade when Danzou was still alive. Now they play their ball game, delaying the votes to be casted. But a lot of work has to be done, Konoha needs to be strong. Stronger. Temporary or no, he has the job of the hokage right now. But he still wish for the best. Tsunade has to wake up.

Karin. The girl has been keeping secrets. She doesn't want to be associated with Sasuke anymore, he understands that. Sasuke almost killed her. She actually hates Sasuke in Kakashi's opinion. But she doesn't want to betray Sasuke. She loves him. Should they break her so she will speak? Ibiki is the right man for the job. But they still haven't tried letting her speak with Naruto. Perhaps Naruto's "come to the good side" no jutsu can convince her. Yes they can try that tomorrow. Naruto has to speak with her before he leaves.

It seems the kid has decided to go back to Myobukuzan. That is the wisest decision he has ever made. Naruto is the game for this war. Akatsuki has serious plans of capturing him. And the safest place Naruto can be is in Mt. Myobukuzan. That made Kakashi wonder, If Akatsuki is really serious of capturing Naruto, why hasn't Madara? It seems Madara is playing a different game. "Why haven't i thought of this before?". But kakashi set aside that thought for a different day. War has been declared. Preparations has to be made.

Sakura. Poor girl. Her resolve was totally shattered. That last confrontation with Sasuke has proved to be a total disaster. She had every chance of dealing the death blow, but didn't. Kakashi can't blame her, she still loves Sasuke afterall. But why did she have to go so far as faking a confession to Naruto. Something needs to be done with her and fast. Tsunade has to wake up and beat her to her senses. Shizune has to deal with her for now.

Time to pack up now. Kakashi leaves the Hokage's chambers and closes the door. He can clearly remember the bluff Madara made. Kamui, He could have tried at least. He has lost a lot of his edge lately. Rin. He lost her already. He let the thought go. In his mind he is determined. He should step up his game. He will not lose anymore.

Looking towards the gate, the sun was already down. Darkness is already coming fast. As kakashi turns to go, he felt the shivers, and then a large explosion follows. He looks back. The gate, it is in shambles and he can see from the smoke that clouds the entrance of Konoha, 7 giant fingerlike shapes sliver in the early night sky. Kakashi looked shocked. There's no mistaking it. Those are 7 giant snakes.

[Kabuto invades the hidden Waterfall Village. What is he planning?]

(The three shinobi that were restrained by Kabuto’s snakes, dies… Kabuto then tosses their bodies across the pavement and withdraws his snakes.)

Kabuto: Now, to find this village’s leader… After I kill him, I will convince the Damiyou of this country to make me this village’s leader. He, he, he… And with the experimental subjects, and all of Orochimaru-sama’s bases under my direct command, I can put up quite the resistance here… No one will interfere with my projects.

Kabuto (in thought): I will surpass Orochimaru-sama… I will continue his research and take his studies further than he could ever hope to… There are still unsolved mysteries surronding jutsu… I must solve them all… I must… I’ll need more than a life time, several times more… Chakra consumption for jutsu, handseals for molding jutsu, how long it takes to learn jutsu based off the individual’s skill level, and the complications of implanting bloodline based jutsu into subjects…

There are so many equations, so many possible outcomes… There must be potentially thousands of combinations. I must know all of the equations… I must know the true extent to jutsu’s growth. That is the only way to surpass Orochimaru-sama….

(Kabuto makes a grin, and then a long prehensile tongue sags out of his mouth, much like Orochimaru’s did. The scene switches over to Konoha. Shikaku, Kakashi, and Shikamaru walks out of the Konoha hospital shack and into the streets of the village.)

Kakashi: It seems Madara was tight-lipped… We didn’t get anything we didn’t already know out of her…

Shikaku: Although, I wish things could have gone better, it’s good to see that you’ve come out on top as the Hokage… We sure as hell didn’t want that old hound calling the shots….

Shikamaru: Is it true that Sasuke took care of Danzou too? Mannn… That guy’s becoming a real handful… It’s getting harder and harder to relate with Naruto after hearing that. But I heard Sakura contributed to a lot of confusion… Gosh, women are so-… (Shikaku punches him.)
HEYYY!

Shikaku: Watch what you speak!

Shikamaru: I’m just sayin! Geesh!

Kakashi: Shikamaru… Considering you worked well for Tsunade, and Shizune is tasked with overseeing Sakura’s training, I was wondering if you’d help me with the paper work, security checking, and battlefield plans that I need help with… I know you’re more than capable…

Shikamaru: *sigh* What a drag… (Shikaku places his hand on Shikamaru’s shoulder.)

Shikaku: Do it son… It’s not like we go to war every day, or something…

Shikamaru: Gee, thanks dad… You make it seem like that’s some sort of thing to get excited over.

(The scene switches over to Danzou’s lair underground… Hyou is giving a speech to his fellow Root, who fills the chamber.)

Hyou: We have just received word of Danzou-sama’s unfortunate passing. It was done by the hands of Uchiha Sasuke! (The crowd is in uproar. Sai can also be seen in the crowd somewhere… The panel focuses on Sai [he has his mask on, like all the rest].)

Sai (in thought): Danzou, dead… Is that even possible? But by Sasuke no less… I’m sorry Naruto… I’m unsure if I can help you this time… Not when my unit wants revenge… (The panel focuses back on Hyou.)

Hyou: WE WILL KEEP CALM! THIS IS NOT THE WAY ROOT BEHAVES. (The crowd silences.) Good. We have not received word on the condition of Fuu and Torune… We will also assume the worst for them… As always, we work in the dark… We will not conform to the Hokage’s orders… We will have our revenge on Uchiha Sasuke… But, we will do it discreetly, to avoid any conflict with the public. This meeting will be adjourned.

(The Scene switches over to the Sakura and Shizune’s location. They are somewhere out in the fields.)

Shizune: You are going to be needed more than ever in this situation. As a medical ninja, you will be on the field saving lives… You may also have to escort the wounded to recovery platforms quickly.

Sakura: I know, I understand…

Shizune: For that reason, it is really important that you refine your medical ninjutsu… I’m not Tsunade, but I can surely help you in that that regard…

Sakura: Yes, I understand. (She pictures Tsunade. The Scene switches over to another open field. Two of Naruto’s Shadow clones can be seen gathering natural energy… Two other shadow clones can be seen fighting each other. A short distance away, the real Naruto is sweating a little.)

Naruto (in thought): I have to keep trying… And keep my concentration… (Naruto makes the ram handseal and instantly goes into the 4th tailed state, but just the cloak, not the bloody, beastly form. Soon Yamato drops in from behind.)

Yamato: So that’s what I was feeling… (4 tailed Naruto turns around to face Yamato.)

Naruto: Yamato Sensei? (Naruto falls out of the 4th tailed state and falls on his ass. He begins to sweat.)

Yamato: Looks like you’ve gotten the hang of it a little.

Naruto: I can only take it this far while keeping control… Damn it!

Yamato: How about I help you out?…

Naruto: But aren’t you tasked with fixing up the village? I don’t want to be a burden…

Yamato: Nahh, it’s fine and I’m on break… I actually kind of miss these days…

Naruto: Sensei…

(The scene switches over to outside the Akatuski base… Sasuke is standing in the fields… The ground around him has smoke rising up from it. Madara appears behind him.)

Madara: You’ve been practicing for a while now… You’ve most certainly taken a liking to them…

(Sasuke turns around; his Mangekyou is a mixture of Itachi and his own patterns.)

Sasuke: Konoha will be crushed… And most of all, him… (Madara’s eye rises with excitement. The scene switches over to Mizugakure… Insider her office, she sits at the desk (the door flies open, and several mysterious figures’ shadows can be seen.)

Mizukage: The sevenmist swordsmen. Perfect, our formations will revolve around you… (The scene switches over to Sunagakure… Gaara is having an audience with one division of shinobi troops [who are plentiful].)

Gaara: This division is tasked with the protection of the two hosts. You’re top priority is to barricade Uzumaki Naruto and the Hachibi of Kumogakure… Don’t let a single attack get through… I’m certain the other hidden villages will provide us with support in that regard…

Team Gaara
Temari: According to the information Mifune gave us Kakashi & the others would most likely take this route back to Konoha. There's a lodging near by maybe we should stop by & ask if anyone's seen them?

Gaara: Agreed, it would be exhausting to travel from Konoha & back without resting. We'll start our search there ff we're lucky we they may still be in the area.

Team Mizukage
Choujiru: I'm worried about Aoi he still hasn't reported back yet.

Mizukage: Aoi is very capable Choujiru I wouldn't worry to much. Besides with the Byakugan nothing could possibly get him off guard (thinking: You better not to something reckless Aoi...)

Team Raikage
Shi: Raikage-sama Samuii's team just responded & said they're going to search for Sab-chan since they're close to his area.

Raikage: Knowing my brother that's most likely where he'll be. Alright tell Samui to report back as soon as she finds him. Also make sure they don't engage Kirabi right away. We don't want him running away from them.

Shi: Yes Raikage-sama

Suigetsu & Juugo
Juugo: I don't think this is a good idea Suigetsu.

Suigetsu: Relax Juugo they'll never be able to tell who we are so long as we keep on this Samurai getup. Let's go find the summit area & find out what happened to Sasuke.

Kisame vs. Kirabi & Sab-chan

Kisame & Kirabi are shown flying through the air with swords clashes. Kisame & Kirabi both slides backwards & Sab-chan comes from behind with Yosakugiri but Kisame lifts Samehada above his head to block the attack & kicks Sab-chan in the stomach sending him flying into a tree.

Kirabi: Master Sab-chan!!!

Kirabi starts to powerup into tailed states.

Kisame: Don't you get it yet that won't work on me!

Kisame charges after Kirabi & slashes him eating away his chakra cloak & knocking Kirabi down. Sab-chan is seen on the ground knocked out.

Kisame walks over to Kirabi & places the mouth of Samehada on Kirabi's chest.

Kirabi: ArrrhhhHH!!!

Hachibi: Hang in there Kirabi-kun!!!

Kirabi uses his arm to force off the mouth of Samehada & does a back flip to get a little distance. Kirabi is seen breathing heavily with blood coming from his chest & arm.

Kisame: Ha you're pathetic the Yonbi host put up a better fight then you. A Jinchuuriki who relies so much on his Bijuu could never hope to defeat me!

Kirabi talking to Hachibi within his mind: Hachibi we're going to need to transform into your true form in order to beat this guy do you think you're up for it or should we grab Sab-chan & run?

Hachibi: This guy won't let up we should kill him now. Allot of my chakra has been eaten away but I think we could manage if only for a few minutes.

Kirabi: Alright! time for number 8!!

Kisame: Get ready for the main course Samehada!

Kirabi transforms into the Hachibi & Kisame jumps at his eat with Samehada raised over his head.

Madara releases Sasuke & Karin from his dimension. Karin is shown knocked out due to blood lose. Her neck appears to have a bite mark on it. Sasuke spits blood from his mouth & stands up.

Madara: How was it Sasuke?

Sasuke: What the fuck is the big idea setting us up like that! We could have been killed!

Madara: But you weren't. You did quite well for yourself. You managed to defeat a Kage & have grown stronger because of it.

Sasuke: Grown stronger?! I lost two of my comrades because of you!

Madara: You left them behind but relax they're fine. In fact they're looking for you. I'll snatch them up shortly however you needed to be helped first. So answer the question how was it Sasuke? How did it feel to use the power of Susano'o.

Sasuke: Is that what this is all about? You wanted me to awaken Susano'o.

Madara: I wanted to test your abilities & yes get you to awaken Susano'o. So how was it?

Sasuke: I never expected it to be so painful... A jutsu that is supposed to be the ultimate defense yet kills the user. The pain Itachi went through must have been unbearable...

Madara: Itachi ultimately died as a result of overusing that dojutsu over the years. It made him sick & eventually led to his demise. Your fate will be the same if you refuse the eyes.

Sasuke: I don't need that kind of power!

Madara: But Sasuke you do. Look at what happened at the summit Had I not stepped in you would have been killed. Take the eyes Sasuke!

Madara pulls out a jar with Itachi's eyes in them & hands them to Sasuke. Sasuke's hand is shaking as he reaches for the eyes.

Sasuke: So how does this work?

Madara: Think of your brother Itachi & place both eyes his each hand. Place them on your current eyes & your blood will instinctively do the rest.

Sasuke does as Madara says & Itachi's eyes fuse into his own creating a new EMS pattern. Sasuke looks around the room in shock as his vision is heighten to levels he's never known.

Sasuke: I...I... can see.... everything!

Sasuke looks at Madara.

Sasuke thinking: So that's how his jutsu works...

Madara: Don't even try it Sasuke even if you know my secret a mere child could never hope of defeating me. But for laughs I'll tell you something. Itachi had 2 of 3 ancient artifacts that he collected over the years in an effort to try & kill me.

Madara throws the Yata Mirror & Totsuka Sword at Sasuke as they fuse into his body.

Sasuke: But why would you give me such a thing if you know I intend to kill you after I'm finished with Konoha?

Madara: Because I believe I understand your pain more than anyone Sasuke & I need you to be strong for what lies ahead. I believe in time you'll come to understand my way of thinking & accept me as your brethren. Besides I have no use for mystical artifacts left behind by the Rikudou Sennin.

Sasuke: The Rikudou Sennin?!

Madara: You've read the tablet so you should know of his existence.

Sasuke: For such a thing to truly have existed... So your plan is to resurrect the Juubi?

Madara: Exactly & I need your help in achieving that goal!

Sasuke: To revive such a thing would result in the destruction of the earth!

Madara: I seek to purify this world by surpassing the Rikudou Sennin by becoming one with the Juubi! Don't you want your brother back? Don't you want to see your mother & father again? I can make that happen Sasuke I can change everything & create a world without war, sickness, or strife!

Sasuke: Such a world wouldn't be real!

Sasuke: Forget about your stupid missions I'm done taking orders from you!

Madara: Ahhh but don't you want the last artifact of the Rikudou Sannin? I know of it's location.

Sasuke: Why would you tell me of it's location? What could you possibly have to gain from this?

Madara: The one holding it is a traitor of Akatsuki. Nagato my avatar of destruction wore it around the neck of his former childhood friend Yahiko. He was really something... Having the ability over life & death & the ability to control several bodies at the same time with nothing but his chakra & receivers. Konan of the rain should now have it. Kill her & keep the jewel for yourself. With it along with the other two items your power should surpass that of Nagato of the Rinnegan!

Sasuke: A power that surpasses a bearer of the Rinnegan!!

Sasuke sets off alone to the village hidden in the rain on a mission to kill Konan!
