Setting Out!

(The scene is at Kumogakure, Raikage prepares to send word about the joint army’s meeting.)

Unnamed chick attendant: Raikage-sama, where should be the rendezvous point?

Raikage: The Fire Country. The Fire Country is situated smack dab in the middle, as in, it is surrounded by all of the great shinobi nations.

Unnamed male attendant: Makes sense lord, and the amount of time it takes for Suna, Kumo, Kiri, and Iwa’s troops to arrive into the Fire country is around three days for each nation’s troops.

Raikage: That’s precisely why I chose the locale in the first place.

Unnamed chick attendant: I’m not sure if Konoha would accept us, even though you’re the commander of the allied forces, there’s still bad blood between Konoha and Kumogakure. I’m not sure if they’d be as accepting Raikage-sama.

Raikage: *Snicker* Idiot, don’t you think I know that?! If my sources are correct, there’s an abandoned city somewhere off the outskirts of Konoha, which also houses a huge armory. It was a base used by the Uchiha during the past wars. If we agree to set up the meeting there, all is fine. Now get on with sending word to the other villages! I gotta get our troops geared up before we set out!

(Both attendants stand up and salute Raikage.)

Both attendants: YES SIR!

(The Scene switches over to Konoha. The War planning session is currently still underway. The panel focuses on the three small tables in use by Tsunade, Koharu, and Homura.)

Koharu: Do we have a solution to combat the Bijuu Uchiha Madara plans to execute on us?

Tsunade: I would say fight fire with fire but- (She gets cut off.)

Homura: NOO! Uzumaki is not to have a say on the battle field! (Close up on the Tsunade, Kakashi, Yamato, Shikamaru and the other people attending the session, shows their unease regarding that answer. The panel focuses back on the elders and Tsunade’s talk.)

Tsunade: *sigh* Let me finish next time. After hearing what happened with Naruto when he almost transformed into the Kyuubi, I’ve also had my doubts about using such a risky and untested power. (Tsunade rests her head on her fist in indecisiveness) But still… YAMATO! (He gets up and rushes to the tables.)

Yamato: Yes, Lady-Sama!

Tsunade: Can you still, somewhat control the Kyuubi’s chakra?

(Homura and Koharu are angered but Tsunade raises her hand as to say, “I got this.”)

Yamato: Well, as you know, I’m nothing like the 1st, so without the crystal dangling around Naruto’s neck, it pretty much goes without saying that I won’t be of much use in that regard.

Tsunade: Hmm… Stay here Yamato. Shikaku, Shikamaru! Up here now!

(Shikaku and Shikamaru rush up to the tables.)

Shikaku: We’re at your service.

Shikamaru: Yes?

Tsunade: If the Bijuu are masses of chakra given form, shouldn’t they also casts shadows, big ones at that?

(The light turns on in their heads.)

Shikaku: That’s true.

Shikamaru: But, the chakra to be able to manipulate something of that size is beyond comprehension. I don’t think the two of us will be able to hack it, especially if there are more of them.

Shikaku: Think a little harder son…

Shikamaru: The entire Nara clan?

Yamato: You’ve thought a lot about this hmm, Lady Tsunade.

Tsunade: That’s where you come in Captain Yamato.

Yamato: But I already said-

Tsunade: If you can stall a Bijuu just long enough for the Nara clan to capture it with their Kage Mane, we can develop a strategy with the other allied forces to take the Bijuu out one by one!

Yamato (in thought): Well, it’s not like I’m controlling them fully. I just hope it’ll work out…

Homura (in thought): Hmm, she got brains after all.)

Kokura (in thought): Can’t say I was expecting that.

Tsunade: It’ll take all we have when we put in our attack, but Shikamaru, I trust you can find a way for all this to work.

Shikaku: Uh oh! You’re on the spot, try not to choke eh?

Shikamaru: What a drag, a slouch like me being this important in my first war. I hope our family listens to me but, I’ll see what I can do!

(Immediately an unnamed shinobi barges into the meeting room.)

Tsunade: What is it? It better be important for you to interrupt us.

Unnamed shinobi: It is, it is! Anko’s team has successfully sent us word on Kabuto’s whereabouts!

Tsunade: That’s good and all, but- (She gets cut off.)

Unnamed shinobi: He was seen with Uchiha Madara, and we believe to have found his base of operation! (Everyone in the room is all in up roar and is discussing the matter amongst themselves.)

Tsunade: Are you serious?!

(Immediately another shinobi barges in, he has a scroll in his arms.)

Tsunde: More shocking news ehh?

Another unnamed shinobi: It was from Kumogakure’s fastest messenger bird! It’s from the Raikage! There is to be a meeting with the joint army in three day’s time. Well, I’ll just hand you the transcript. (He walks over and hands it to Tsunade.)

Tsunade: *mumble, mumble* Hmm, at that vacant city… ALRIGHT, LISTEN UP EVERYONE! USE TODAY TO GET AQUINTED WITH THE PAPER WORK I PREPARED FOR YOU ALL, AND SHARE IT WITH ANY OF THE COMBATANTS THAT WASN’T PRESENT HERE AT THE MEETING! USE TOMMORROW TO GET ANY NECESSARY PREPRATIONS TOGETHER, SUCH AS PERFECTING YOUR SKILLS AND GOING OVER BATTLE FIELD FORMATIONS! JUST TRY NOT TO GET HURT BEFOR ACTUAL COMBAT!

THEN, THE DAY AFTER TOMMORROW GET EQUIPPED AND GET INTO YOUR FORMATIONS AND MEET BACK UP HERE AT 5:00 AM, FROM THERE WAIT INSTRUCTIONS FROM ME! KAKASHI, LOCATE NARUTO AND TELL HIM EVERYTHING. WHEN WE FINALLY HEAD OUT, WE WILL FORM A CIRCLE AROUND NARUTO AS PLANNNED AND MOVE OUT WITH HIM IN THE CENTER, THIS WAY HE WON’T GET ATTACKED FROM ANY ANGLE IF WE ARE BEING FOLLOWED! DISSMISSED!

(The next panel focuses on Kakashi.)

Kakashi (in thought): After nearly two decades, war again.

(The scene switches over to the streets of Konoha. Naruto is walking the streets.)

Naruto (in thought): Hmm, if what grampa and that super-sized sage said about the Octopus being a beast like the Kyuubi, then that Octopus must be the Cloud Jinchuuriki. He’s the only one who escaped capture, well that’s what Gaara said… I’m thinking I’ll have to be close to him, since Gaara said he’d make sure me and that cloud jinchuuriki won’t enter battle. Well, I guess that’s my teacher. I wish I would have came to that point earlier before being asked to be sent here, but I had to get my gear anyway. Well I guess I'll go have another word with super sized sage... (Naruto then rubs his stomach.)

That scroll carrying frog said as long as I don’t perform the seal breaking handsigns, the 4th’s seal should still be intact. But I’m still kinda worried. But what an experience, that scroll carrying toad just shoved himself down my throat. What the hell was that about? (Kakashi appears out of some spoke behind Naruto, Naruto turns around.)

Naruto: Kakashi Sensei?

Kakashi: There you are Naruto!

Naruto: Is something wrong?

Kakashi: I have a lot to tell you, let’s take a walk, shall we?

Naruto: Umm, sure…

(The scene switches over to inside Madara’s Lair. Kabuto is in a cell by himself, sitting at a table.)

Kabuto (in thought): Hopefully those Konoha hounds picked up on my trail. This will make finding us a lot easier. The sooner this war can end, the sooner I can have Uchiha Sasuke at my beck and call…

491: A chance encounter

Naruto is reading through a scroll while the others look at ancient scrolls. A toad suddenly appears and looks at Naruto with a smile.
Toad: "I found him. You are looking for the 8 tails bijuu."
Naruto: "Eight tails?"
Fukusaku: "That would make sense but are you certain?"
Toad: "Yes the 8 tailed bijuu is an octopus type creature. I have confirmed it myself in the ancient library. The eight tales is definately the one we are looking for."
Fukusaku: "Where is the 8 tails bijuu currently located?"
Toad: "It is currently sealed within a jinchuriki. The jinchuriki is currently in a small cave just outside the cloud village."
Naruto flashes back to meeting Raikage.
Raikage: "A ninja should not be so quick to bow before another. Ninjas respect actions and strength. There should be not compromise between ninjas."
Naruto thinking: "Than I know now what I must do."
Naruto: "Can you teleport me to the cloud village and to their leader?"
Toad: "I will try but I can not be sure exactly on where you will appear exactly."
Fukusaku smiles and hands Naruto a bag.
Fukusaku: "Wear this. I think your Jiraiya would have been proud to see you wearing the garb he once wore as a toad sage."
Naruto: "Thank you."

Naruto is then shown standing in front of all the Toads of Myobuzokan who have come to see Naruto off. Naruto is wearing the same outfit as Jiraiya.
Fukusaku: "Good luck Naruto. I hope this meeting bodes well for you."
Ma Toad: "I have a lunch ready and packed for you."
Naruto: "No thanks. You guys have a dinner on me."
Gamakichi: "Good luck Naruto."
Naruto: "Ok teleport me to the cloud village."

Naruto vanishes in a puff of smoke while the toads look on smiling as Naruto vanishes. Raikage is sitting in front of the war council with many ninjas sitting in front of him writing down notes at tables.

Raikage: "Division 17 your mission will consist of investigating section 15 otherwise known as.."

Suddenly an explosion of smoke occurs and Naruto appears standing in front of Raikage who has an angry look on his face while the others are shocked at what they have just seen. Raikage stands up fuming with anger.

Raikage: "What the! How did he get in here?! Guards seize him! You should not have come here young boy!"
Naruto thinking: "Damn it! This is bad. There goes the element of surprise."

The guards inch closer towards Naruto while Shii who is sitting in the front row looks at Naruto with a curious look. Naruto goes into sage mode and draws out a huge amount of sage energy. Shii's eyes widen in shock as he sees Naruto's chakra skyrocket. The guards jump on him all at once and then suddenly are all sent exploding away with some crashing against the walls and tables of ninjas.

Shii thinking: "His chakra is insane! How can so much chakra exist in one person?!"
Raikage thinking: "Typical strength of a jinchuriki but nothing as skilled as my brother. I will end this right now myself and claim the kyubi for my own."

Raikage charges up raiton armor, pushes his table asside, and charges into to strike Naruto with a raiton powered punch. Naruto easily dodges the punch and slams his fist into the belly of Raikage. Raikage falls over grabbing his stomach in agony as he looks up at Naruto in shock. He sees on Naruto's face a flashback of the fourth hokage and his eyes bulge as he stares in shock.

Fourth Hokage in Raikage's Flashback: "If you fight only for yourself and do not learn to agree to the ideas of others and respect the wishes of others you will never survive the ninja war."
Raikage: "It can't be! The resemblence is uncanny!"
Naruto: "I did not come here to fight you or be dismissed away like some child!"

Raikage slowly tries to get up while looking at Naruto but still stumbles in pain from the hit to the stomach.

Raikage: "Why did you come here?"
Naruto: "I came here to make a trade. An exchange of information. You brother holds the key for me to control the full power of the kyubi."
Raikage: "And what exactly are you willing to give to us in return?"
Naruto: "The means to strike at the heart of akatsuki and Madara Uchiha, the home base of akatsuki and the weaknesses of Sasuke and Madara Uchiha."

Raikage smiles and stands up. He offers naruto his hands who shakes it while looking up at him.
Raikage: "I accept on behalf of the cloud village."
Raikage thinking: "Perhaps maybe I was wrong about this boy. Maybe this brat will be of use in the war effort."

Killer Bee is shown sitting in a cave meditating while his chakra surges around him.

Scene is Tsunade's office.

Tsunade is stuffing her face.

Messanger-nin: Hokage-sama! Message from Kumogakure, the meeting of the joint army is in three days!

Tsunade: Fee fays!

Shizune (face palms): Tsunade-sama, don't talk with your mouth full!

Tsunade: That Raikage, always rushing into things. Right, get me Kakashi!

Shizune: But, Tsunade-sama

(flashback)

Kakashi: Well, its such a relief I don't have to be Hokage.

Tsunade: Sorry Kakashi, but you have no time to celebrate. I'm officially appointing you the new leader of Root. I want you, Sai, and Tenzo to reorganize the group and integrate them with the Hokage's ANBU in preparation for war.

Kakashi (looking sullen) : Um, wouldn't that be more suitable for the ANBU leader?

Tsunade: The Anbu leader is away on a mission. We don't have time to wait and I think despite who your teachers were, ROOT will respect you.

Kakashi: Fine, but this will take all my time, I'm leaving Naruto to you.

Kakashi vanishes.

(flashback ends)

Tsunade: Ur right, I forgot. Send for Shikamaru instead.

Shizune: You heard the Hokage!

Messanger-nin: R- right! (vanishes)

Scene change to Madara's cave. We can see the Gedo Maza

Kabuto: I see, so that's your plan.

Tobi: Once Kisame's done, we'll use your, ah, “friends” to extract the eight-tails.

Kabuto: And while the extraction goes on Sasuke will capture the Nine-tails?

Tobi: Yes.

Zetsu appears from the ground, he is complete again (Zuzuzu).

Zetsu Dark: Are you sure Sasuke can handle Naruto?

Zetsu Light: You've already underestimated him once. Not to mention Sasuke's success rate.

Tobi: I do not think Sasuke will fail this time. He did kill Danzo.

Kabuto: So Danzo's dead, Sasuke has improved...

Zetsu Light: So what's with snake dick?

Zetsu Dark: Would you watch your mouth? However he has a point Tobi.

Tobi: Kabuto has demonstrated that his power would be useful in our struggle.

Zetsu Light: But can we trust him?

Zetsu Dark: That reminds me, some Konoha-nin are near, apparently they followed a trail of corpses...

Tobi: Kabuto, would you initiate our partnership? Take out the trash.

Kabuto: I never agreed to take orders...but one of them interests me. She has been following me for some time. You see I needed some witnesses in case you declined my offer, but now.. (eyes turn really evil) THEY ARE USELESS! (laughs and slithers away).

Tobi: Zetsu, tell me about Kisame.

Zetsu Dark: He successfully infiltrated the cloud village.

Zetsu Light: Only with my help!

Tobi: Good, send a message to him, he is to act as quickly as possible!

Zetsu Light: Wait I thought you wanted him to act slowly and carefully.

Tobi: I changed my mind, Naruto is still incomplete. I want to reduce the chance of them meeting. If Naruto became a complete Jinchuriki, even Sasuke would have trouble.

Zetsu Dark: Good point, oh and one more thing..

Scene change to Tsunade

Shikamaru walks in.

Tsunade: Shikamaru, I hope you're prepared!

Shikamaru: Prepared? For what? (thinking) Something really troublesome is about to happen.

Tsunade: I have here two lists: one of our Ninja squads and one of every foreign squad. I want you to match up the squads. One squad from each village, into groups of 20 ninja. That's an order from your Hokage!

Shikamaru: Um, I'm not familiar with most of these foreign squads.

Tsunade: I've already thought of that. I've selected a foreign kunoichi to work with you. She's familiar with many foreign squads.

The door opens. We see a familiar form in shadow. (I'll give you three guesses)

Scene change to Naruto.

Naruto takes his hand of the scroll.

Naruto (thinking) : I hope this was the right...

Gerotama goes down Naruto's throat.

Naruto (coughing) : What was that?

Fukasaku: Don't worry, Gero is a special toad which lives inside the belly of the user, fer extra protection.

Naruto: Right, I just hope when I summon him he comes out the same way and not out my...

Shima: Naruto! There's a lady present!

Naruto (thinking) : Some lady..

Fukasaku: Ma! Send him home, he needs to be with his village as they prepare for war.

Naruto: Wait, I thought you would train me.

Fukasaku: Na! You're on your own with the Kyuubi. But we'll look for an Octopus for ya!

Shima: If you ever want to eat again, let me know!

Naruto (grossed out) poofs away.

Elder Sage Toad: I think I forgot something.

Fukasaku: Not again.

Elder Sage Toad: Who was that again?

Shima: Uzumaki Naruto you old fart!
Elder Sage: Uzumaki...

Scene change to Naruto in Konoha.

Naruto is back in front of Ichiraku's.

Naruto (thinking) : I really don't wanna eat Granny Toad's cooking again.

Teuchi: Hey, Naruto! Where did you go?

Naruto: Ramen! Yes, huh arrgh. (Naruto collapses)

Naruto is in his mind.

Naruto: What.. why am I here?

Kyuubi: So the time has come...

Naruto turns to face Kyuubi. Gerotama is also there.

Gerotama: This is not how its supposed to happen.

Naruto: Don't worry Gero, I'm not going to let him have his way anymore.

Kyuubi (laughing hysterically): Ha, ha, ha, ha. Who do you think you are?

Naruto: Uzumaki Naruto, the Sage of Mount Myobokuzan! (thinking) That sounded so cool!

Kyuubi: Really? Is that all? What about “Son of the Fourth Hokage” or “Jinchuriki of the Kyuubi”? Or...

Naruto: Or? What do you mean or?

Kyuubi: You don't know who you really are do you? I called you to make a deal. I'll tell you a few secrets about you, and if you still want to have control of my power, I'll give it to you. I'll completely suppress my will. (thinking) But I don't think you'll want to.

Gero: What is he... Naruto think about this!

Naruto: I don't really understand where you're going with this but I really need your power. Its a deal!

Naruto 489: The Slug Princess

(The scene is the Daimyo meeting)

Daimyo: Ah, well erm we can't have two hokages, can we?

Homura: Even if she's awake she can't be in any condition to lead us into war.

Daimyo: That is a good point.

Kakashi: Um, may I point out that we don't know what condition she's in, she is Tsunade after all.

Scene change to Tsunade

Shizune (crying): Tsunade-sama!!!! I never thought...

Sakura runs in.

Sakura (crying) : Sensei! I just heard. We , we thought you'd never wake up.

Tsunade: Well, I guess you were wrong. Now tell me what I've missed.

Sakura and Shizune try to talk to Tsunade by they keep bursting into tears.

Tsunade (thinking) : I guess better get Kakashi.

All of a sudden there's a commotion. Naruto barges in, he's pissed.

Naruto: Tsunade-ba, I heard you were awake! Make this weirdo stop following me!

Sakura punches Naruto.

Sakura: Be more sensetive!

Tsunade: No, its alright, Naruto I wanted to see you. Thank you, for saving the village.

Naruto: Its no problem, I'll do it anytime.

Tsunade: Jirayia would have been so proud.

Naruto: Yeah, and my father too.

Tsunade: Your... father?

Naruto: Yeah, I'll tell you about it later. First, get this crazy person away from me.

Tsunade: Who are you talking about?

A voice: Hey, let go of me!
Shikamaru walks in, he's holding Karin.

Shikamaru: Should you be spying on the hokage?

Karin: I wasn't... I was just trying to find out...

Naruto (pointing at Karin) : Its her! Stop following me!

Tsunade: Who is she?

Sakura: She was traveling with Sasuke, she left him and came back to Konoha with us, Sensei?

Tsunade seems to have gone white. She has a flashback.

Tsunade wakes up in the tent, its night and no one seems to be around.

Tsunade: What happened?

A voice: So she awakes...

Tsunade: Who is it!?

The voice laughs.

Tsunade: I know that laugh, but how, is it you Oro-?

Kabuto steps into view.

Kabuto: I guess you're still a bit addled.

Tsunade: You! I thought I sent someone to kill you.

Kabuto: Tsk, tsk you should be more polite to the person whose giving you life.

Tsunade: Giving me..

Kabuto: Your condition is serious, you should be dead. Fortunately I was able to give you temporary treatment. Enough to awaken and live long enough to do my bidding.

Tsunade: Why you.. how long do I have?

Kabuto: Could be a week, two weeks, two days, I'm not sure. But I really need your help.

Tsunade: Dammit, and why should I trust you?

Kabuto: Because I could easily kill you and the people I've put to sleep to get to you tonight. As I see it I gave you this life so you'll do what I please with it. Don't worry I'm not entirely heartless.

Tsunade: Fine, I'll do what you want but under one condition leave everyone in the leaf village unharmed tonight and tell me what you're up to.

Kabuto: That's not really one condition..

Tsunade: You'd be amazed how hard I can make your life in a few days.

Kabuto: Fine.

Tsunade: But, that's....

Kabuto: Do it, you agreed didn't you?

Tsunade: How will I recognize...?

Kabuto: Naruto will be all the help you need. Oh and try not to let them know I was here.

Tsunade: Huh...why am I...

Kabuto: Well I can't have you awake like this, timing is everything.

Back to present.

Tsunade: Sorry, this girl reminds me of someone. So you were with Sasuke? And he had some other companions right?

Karin: Um, yeah, two in fact.

Tsunade: Right, Naruto! Starting right now you are on a mission to find those companions and bring them to Konaha.

Naruto: But I can't, I have to train!

Tsunade: Naruto, this is an order from your Hokage.

Naurto: I thought Kakashi was...

Tsunade: Not yet he isn't. Also you're taking her with you.

Naruto: You've got to be kidding! She's the one I'm trying to get away from!

Tsunade (to Karin): That's okay with you right?

Karin: Um, I guess. Those guys might be looking for me.

Shizune: Tsunade-sama, aren't you rushing a bit, I mean shouldn't you send a chunin or jounin with them.

Tsunade: Yeah. Shikamaru you're going too.

Shikamaru: But I came here for something else..

Tsunade: One more thing, I'm going to prepare a scroll. You're to meet a jounin in the field. The scroll will order her to suspend her mission and join yours.

Shikamaru: Her? Another girl?

Tsunade: Actually a kunoichi who has experience with Orochimaru and his men.

Karin (thinking): Who could she be talking about?

Naruto: What are you doing? Write that scroll. I need to complete this mission as fast as possible!

Sakura (wearily): Naruto....

What is this new mission? What is Kabuto up to?

(Daimyo scene)
Daimyo: So tsunade's awaken from her coma,at last!
Kakashi: If Tsunade-Sama is out of her coma,shouldn't be re-assigned to the Hokage post?
Homura: But Tsunade wasn't able to protect the village from Akatsuki's infiltration,she is of no use as Hokage.
(Kakashi looks at Homura with a distressed look)
Daimyo: True,Tsunade didn't fulfill her job as a Hokage when she was needed the most,so I hereby appoint you,Hatake Kakashi as Hokage!
(Kakashi looks down)
Kakashi: Fine,I accept!
Daimyo: This meeting is hereby adjourned.Return to Konoha to prepare for war at once!
Kakashi: Right.

(Naruto scene)
Naruto: Aaaaah,haven't had a nice meal like this in a long time.
(Naruto hears some villagers talking while running)
Villager #1: Did you hear?Tsunade-Sama's finally awoke!
Villager #2: Really!?Let's hurry over then!
(Naruto's face warms up and starts smiling)
Naruto: So granny woke up,eh.Let's go see her.

(Kakashi scene)
(Kakashi is outside Tsunade's tent.He enters the tent,and finds Tsunade lying down with her eyes closed)
Kakashi: She must be sleeping.I'll come back later.
(Kakashi is about to exit the tent)
Tsunade: I slept enough,come in,i'am awake.
Kakashi: I came to tell you something Tsuande.
Tsunade: What is it!?
Kakashi: The Fire country appointed me as Hokage.
Tsunade: Congratulations!
Kakashi: But i didn't want to take your seat without your permission.
Tsunade: Don't worry about it.I was getting tired of that boring paperwork anyway.
Kakashi: I'am glad your okay with it.I should let you have some rest.
(Kakashi walks out)
(Tsunade in thought) : So i'am finally free.

(Sasuke scene)
(Sasuke's eyes are fully red,with Itachi's Mangekyou in the middle)
Sasuke: Madara!
Madara: What is it!?
Sasuke: I'am going to fight Naruto now!
Madara: Hold on sasuke,now's not the time.Itachi's eyes have just been transplanted to.....
(Madara is cut off)
Sasuke: I SAID NOW!I can kill him now!
Madara: Fine,just don't blame me if you find yourself losing.
Sasuke: I won't lose!
(Zetsu looks at Madara with a worried look on his face)
(Madara grabs Sasuke and warps)

Sasuke is laying in bed with his bandages wrapped around his head covering his eyes..
Sasuke:you surpassed me once... (flashback of naruto fighting gaara at the chunin exams protecting him and sakura) you shall never surpass me again

Madara walks into the room
Madara:talking to yourself i see.. hehehehe... your going crazy
Sasuke:shut up and leave me alone i still need time to heal
Madarak as you wish... madara walks out the room thinking to himself

Kakashi:i promise we wont fail you(kakashi notice the serious look on naruto's face)

Sakura:why was that
Karin:to make him strong.. sasuke said after he avenges his clan he wishes to die by the hand of friend to prove to prove to him he's strong enough to rid this world of his pain and hatred and become HOKAGE!!!!

489 The Special One

-Tsunade’s Recovery

(The scene starts off in Konoha… Naruto and Iruka are enjoying bowls of Ramen at Ichiraku.)

Iruka: As always, as of late, we haven’t had much time to talk to together (Iruka smiles).

Naruto: Oh, uh, sorry, it’s just I’ve been really busy…

Iruka: That’s fine. (Iruka puts his hand on Naruto’s shoulder.) I’m proud of you. Saving the village from the likes of Pain, if Jiraiya was here, I’m certain he’d feel the same way that I, as well as the villagers feel… (Naruto shrugs off.) Is something wrong Naruto?

Naruto: Well, that’s not how Shikamaru, Kiba, Neji, and the others feel.

Iruka: Hmm?

Naruto: I mean about Sasuke… I know in my heart that what I’m doing is right, but-(Naruto gets cut off).

Iruka: You’ll pull through, you always do…

Naruto: Iruka sensei…

Naruto (in thought): It’s more than just wanting to stop Sasuke from harming the village and be able to know that I did… I need the power to do so, but at this moment, I’m just not-(Iruka starts talking.)

Iruka: Your ramen will get cold if you don’t eat up…

Naruto: Oh, uh, yeah… Thanks… (Naruto starts to chow down. Immediately, Sakura appears behind Iruka and Naruto, and is ready to tell them of something important.)

Sakura: Iruka sensei! Naruto! HURRY, YOU GUYS HAVE TO COME WITH ME! (Naruto turns his head to face Sakura.)

Naruto: What is it? Can’t it wait? I’ll get to it when I’m done eating… (While Sakura grunts, Naruto turns around and stuffs his face with more ramen, immediately Sakura knocks Naruto upside the head, which causes him to start to choke on his food…) AWWK! AWWK!

Iruka: *Sigh.*

Sakura: It’s Tsunade Sama, I’ve heard that she’s awaken… (Naruto and Iruka turn around to face Sakura… They both have an amazed and shocked look on their faces. The scene switches over to a forested area. The unnamed Konoha shinobi that went to break up Kakashi’s appointment, the two unnamed Anbu, Kakashi, Homura, and Koharu are rushing from the Fire Capital to Konoha.)

Koharu: Hatake, was it really necessary for you to leave the Capital?

Kakashi: Is asking such a question even necessary? This is Tsunade we’re talking about.

Homura: Kohura and I, as advisors, will be enough to inform the lady of her terms. All you need to do is await appointment…

Unnamed shinobi (in thought): Those elders don’t in the least bit sound happy about the Lady’s recovery.

Homura (in thought): So, the Slug Queen awakens… This will put our political climate in quite the predicament. Hopefully, Koharu has my back on this one. (Homura glances over at Koharu, she nods her head as to suggest that an agreement between them is valid.)

Kakashi (in thought): I see, so that’s how things are. Those two, what could they be planning?

(The scene switches back over to Konoha. The scene is outside Tsunade’s cabin. There is a huge crowd gathered outside. Naruto, Sakura, and Iruka make it to the location.)

Sakura: SEE! I told you Naruto! Because of you we have to push our way through!

Naruto: SORRY! I was on a full stomach! (Naruto and Sakura are walking forward, however, the two of them are taken off guard when they picked up on that Iruka is just standing behind them.)

Hey! Aren’t you coming to see granny too!

Iruka: Nahh, I’ll pass… Don’t worry, I’d be kinda off not to see her, but I’ll wait until the crowd dies down. Don’t let me slow you two down.

Naruto: Uh, ok! (Sakrua pulls Naruto by his hand and drags him through the crowd.)

Sakura: Naruto let’s go!

Naruto: Ok, ok, ok! Just don’t grip my hand so tightly!

(Through the crowd, people are glad to see Naruto.)

Some kid: Hey mama, it’s Naruto!

Some man: Naruto, how ya doin man?

Some woman: Hey, over here! You’ve come to see Lady Tsunade too!

(While continuously being dragged through the crowd, Naruto still tries to wave back.)

Naruto: Oh umm… Hi ALL! (Sakura squeezes his arm tighter.) OUCH!

Sakura: There’s no time for this Naruto! (While being pulled through the crowd by Sakura, the rookies can be seen among the crowd standing with their clansmen with the exception of Shikamaru. Both Naruto and Sakrua notices that Kotetsu and Izumo [they don’t notice Naruto and Sakura arriving though] are there standing guard in front of the door… )

Izumo: I think my vocals are going to give out… Can you handle this one?

Kotetsu: Fine… LISTEN UP EVERYONE! LADY TSUNADE NEEDS HER REST! WILL YOU ALL QUIET DOWN!

(As Naruto and Sakura reaches the door, she let’s Naruto go, and Naruto falls to the ground…)

Naruto: Sakrua, jeesh!

Sakura: C’mon, you have to let us see Tsuande Sama…

Kotetsu: Ahh, if it isn’t Naruto?

Izumo: Actually, the Lady has been waiting for you two.

(Sakrua tears up.)

Sakrua: Really? LET’s GO NARUTO! (She grabs Naruto’s arm again.)

Naruto (in thought): Not again… (Dragging Naruto, Sakura bursts into the door. Shizune, Shikamaru, and the unnamed medical ninja are present.)

Shikamaru: Gosh you’re late… Don’t bother running her ears off, I already told her everything that’s going on.

(Sakura starts to cry, she starts wiping her face.)

Sakura: Master, I, I…

Naruto: Granny… (Slight tear up.)

Tsunade: Going by your faces, you two make it seem like I’m still in a coma. (Sakura looks really pathetic, snot running from her nose, tears flowing like a river, and she’s biting her lip to stop herself from moaning.)

Sakrua: *Sob.*

(Shizune has a rest assured face on… Shikamaru looks annoyed yet looks somewhat joyful…)

[Mountain scene, lightning is heard in the background]
[Little girl cries]
Kushina: Hurry, we have to get out of this pass before the weather gets worse!

[Large rumbling, rocks begin to fall down the slope towards a small group of what appears to be older people and children]
Kushina: Tajuu Kage bunshin no jutsu!

[50 clones appear between the mountainside and the hooded travelers]
All 51 Kushina’s make the water sign at once: Ascending Whirlpool Wall!

[51 spinning geyers sprout out from the rock face, making a curved shield over the head of all the travelers, the boulders hit the water and are flung overhead and down the cliff]
Kushina: Everyone, get out of here, the rocks are first and the mountain comes next, if you don’t get going we’ll all be crushed!

Unidentified woman: Kushina-sama! If you stay you’ll be crushed!
Kushina: Don’t worry about me, I still have an important task ahead of me, I won’t die here!
Little girl: Kushina-sama!!!
Kushina: We’ll meet again! I won’t break my word!
[The little girl is pulled away by the others and we see a hidden grass headband on one of the travelers, though they’re too old to be an active ninja, the next frame has a huge landslide overwhelming the wall of water]

[Scene cuts to Naruto shedding a tear and sniffing, he and Kakashi have stopped and put Karin down to hear her story]
Karin: And that was the last time I heard Uzumaki Kushina-sama’s voice… she saved over a hundred lives that day and I haven’t heard anything about her since… :tears pour down her face:
Kakashi: That does sound just like your mother, Naruto… and more than a little like you, too.
Naruto: Where were you when you that happened!? Kakashi-sensei, when we get back to the village, I would like permission to assemble a search party to locate…

Kakashi: Naruto… I understand how you feel…
Naruto: Sensei, I never had any parents growing up, and I only just found out who my father was after all these years. I need to look for any trace of my mother; I don’t need to ask for your permission, but if I had some people with me, it would go much faster and I’d be at less of a risk of getting in trouble…

Kakashi: Sigh, you’re right. This IS the wife of the 4th hokage we’re talking about. We all thought she died when your father sealed the Kyuubi, but if she lived on, it is just as important to the village that we find her. We’ll talk more when we get back to the village [picks Karin up]

Naruto: So let’s pick up the pace!
[Suigetsu is in a glass tank and Juugo is with him in a cell; lightning flashes out the cell window]
[Juugo is standing by the window and a bird lands on his hand]
Juugo: Kimimaro… I’m sorry; I failed your successor…

Suigetsu: [bubbles out his mouth] Keh, Sasuke sure has become a first class bastard, leading us into thatAkatsuki trap and letting us be caught by that Raikage and his friends.

Juugo: I wonder if Karin is alright.
Suigetsu: Fuck Karin, she didn’t help us at all either, for all her sensor abilities she sure didn’t see that Zetsuwas going to betray us like that.

Juugo: I don’t think Sasuke and Karin would leave us alone if the situation wasn’t so desperate.
Suigestsu: And whose fault is it that we went into the middle of the kage summit without any backup and immediately had our positions given away? I’m not saying Sasuke planned it, but he let it happen.

Juugo: Hey! There’s something going on out the window!
Suigestsu: Huh? I can’t see anything in this tank, can’t you break those shackles and get me out of here already?

Juugo: It’s the 8tailed beast… he’s talking to himself and carrying something really big… it’s that sword Kisame had!
Suigetsu: [perks up] !! Kisame-senpai, I knew you weren’t meant for samehada, to lose it to the 8tail, what a loser!

Juugo: The 8tail was the one who made your sword break, too…
Suigestsu: Shut up! Break me out of here so I can go get the sword! We’ll break out of here and get back at Akatsuki in no time! C’mon, Juugo, don’t be such a little bitch!

Juugo: [cursed seal starts to spread out] Guh, no… I don’t want to fight anymore! [cursed seal reaches his restraints, then releases]
Suigetsu: What happened? Weren’t you gonna flip out and go ninja and break me out of this?

Juugo: I… I’m not sure? This hasn’t happened before without Kimimaro or Sasuke to calm me down… these bracelets are made out of some chakra repellant material that must be stopping my transformation.

Suigetsu: Fuck! Just break me out then, and I’ll get those off you in no time, then we can go steal the Samehada and get out of here!

Juugo: I’ll let you out of the tank, but I’m not going with you. This is what I’ve always wanted, to be in control without risking my dark side getting out. [Smashes the tank and Suigetsu spills out]

Suigetsu: Suit yourself, good luck explaining how I got out of here. I’ll cut that Zetsu once for you, too.

[Suigetsu escapes through the bars of the cell, Juugo sighs and sits down on the bed]
[Cuts to scene with Bee leaning against a tree with Samehada next to him, he’s snoring]

Kisame: (thinking) God damn that hachibi is annoying, but now that he’s asleep and Samehada has taken most of his chakras, I just have to transform into water and leave the sword so I can take him down and call Madara to take him away… ?!

[Suigetsu begins to materialize up from a nearby stream, sneaking up towards the tree]
[Kisame drips out of Samehada and rematerializes in front of Suigetsu, covering his mouth]

Kisame: [whispering] Don’t make a sound unless you want to get us in deep shit.
Suigetsu: !? [pushes the hand away from his mouth] Kisame… I’m going to take your sword and peace the fuck out. If you want to fight me for it and wake up the hachibi, that’ll be your responsibility.

Kisame: God Damnit, I’m not going to let another punk use my sword! [Fuck! I was too loud, did he wake up!?]

[Bee stirs a little, mutters something like you idiot, you fool, then snores loudly]
Kisame: (thinking) I have to take this chance while I have it and cut off the hachibi’s legs, then I can deal with Suigetsu…

[Suigetsu is standing next to Kisame still but then the next frame Kisame is gone]
Suigetsu: (thinking) Crap, he’s fast! I can’t let him get a grip on the sword!

[Kisame reaches for the sword but leaps back at the last moment as Bee swings it right at his head]
Kisame: Fuck, you were just pretending to sleep!?

Bee: Hah, you little idiot, little fool, I don’t have to be awake to know there’s something about to attack me, that’s what I have my little friend for. [Samehada purrs] Neither do I need to see my enemy to know he’s not who he appears to be.

Kisame: Well now, I can’t let you keep going on thinking that sword belongs to you. You impress me to know that you hadn’t really defeated me, but know that I can’t forgive you stealing my Samehada! [makes handsigns] Seven Swordman Summoning!

[Samehada disappears out of Bee’s hand and appears in Kisame’s]

Kisame: Wow, you sure have collected a lot of chakra from this bijuu, let’s see how he likes a taste of his own medicine!

Hachibi: (internal bee dialogue] You idiot! I warned you about that sword, and now it’s taken too much of our chakra for us to to even try to dodge this, you’ve doomed us both!

[At the last moment, Bee is shoved out of the way and water splashes around him]
Bee: It’s you, the wet towel from the Akatsuki who tried to capture me with that Uchiha! What are you doing!?

Suigetsu: Keh, I can’t let it slide that Kisame would try to fight you before he fights me for the right to wield that sword. Besides, I’m not a part of Akatsuki, I was just hanging around Sasuke because he freed me, but he’s betrayed me just like the rest of those Akatsuki bastards have…

[Suigetsu rematerializes and so do several more Suigetsu from puddles around the tree]
Kisame: Little Suigetsu… I’ll show you how much more you’ve bitten off than you can chew.

489: Difficult decisions

Naruto is eating at Ichiruku Ramen while the cook watches with pride. Naruto notices and stops to look at him. The cook sees next to Naruto the image of Naruto as a small boy sitting on the stool having ramen. The cook then smiles as the image vanishes.
Cook: "I was just thinking back to when you were a small boy first coming here to have ramen for the first time."
Naruto: "Yeah those were good times."
Shikimaru then walks over and pulls up a seat next to Naruto.
Shikimaru: "The others are still shocked by what you said about Sasuke. Do you really think that he is that unbeatable."
The cook smiles and brings over some food for Shikimaru. Naruto looks down but then puts his food asside and turns to face Shikimaru.
Naruto: "Have you ever truly had to kill a friend or partner Shikimaru?"
Shikimaru: "Sasuke is no longer your friend or partner Naruto."
Naruto: "You dodged the question. Have you ever truly had to kill a friend or partner?"
Shikimaru thinking: "Where is he going with this?"
Naruto: "You haven't because like it or not you never have had to make that decision. Sakura was put to that same test as was Kakashi but in both cases they could not do it."
Shikimaru: "So you are saying that if it came down to killing Sasuke I would not be able to do it?"
Naruto: "You would hesitate like everyone else because like it or not you still are not able to put asside your respect for everyone else. Thus if you had to kill anyone else here you would hesitate just like Sakura did."
Shikimaru: "And when I hesitate Sasuke would kill me. I get what you are saying now. If any of us try to fight him we will only stop ourselves and try to take him alive. That is why Sasuke would have an advantage over us."
Naruto nods his head, takes a drink, and then looks at Shikimaru.
Shikimaru: "But what makes you so sure that you can do what we can not?"
Naruto: "Sasuke and I have always been rivals. Always on a competeing level to see who is better. I get strong and Sasuke gets stronger. When we fight we fight until there is almost nothing left to hold us back. We are both equal and in many ways the same so odds are that if and when we do fight again we will fight until neither of us is able to fight back which means either one of has killed the other or probably both of us are dead."
Shikimaru's eyes widen as he realizes what Naruto is implying.
Shikimaru: "I understand now. I wish I did not understand now but now I see the burden you carry. I will try to stop the others. If what you suggest is true than we would only be a burden to you when that time comes."
Naruto starts to eat Ramen again while Shikimaru looks at Naruto.
Shikimaru thinking: "Damn now I feel stupid. This is such a drag."

Kakashi is visiting Tsunade as she lays on her bed in her room. Tsunade looks up at Kakashi as he enters. Tsunade sits up while kakashi leans against the wall.
Tsunade: "Hokage?"
Kakashi: "I wouldn't have expected it to happen myself but it seems that is what everyone is leaning towards. The others villages agree on it. The other jonin think it is for the best. Even the elders are convinced. Whether I like it or not I am the next hokage."
Tsunade: "But do you think you can handle it?"
Kakashi: "There are larger problems for me to be concerned about than mere titles."
Tsunade: "Its Naruto isn't it? What happened?"
Kakashi sits down next to Tsunade and looks her straight in the face.
Kakashi: "It seems that history is repeating iself with the Sanin."
Tsunade: "So Sasuke has sunk that low huh?"
Kakashi: "There is no bringing him back any more. The only solution I can see as an end to this conflict is for Sasuke to die."
Tsunade: "And with Naruto being similar to Jiraiya, he is determined to face Sasuke to the end just as Jiraiya was willing to only that final conflict never happened."
Kakashi: "I just don't know if I can think of any way to stop it."
Tsunade flashes back to Jiraiya as a young boy as they were getting a picture taken altogether.
Tsunade: "Im sure you will think of something Hokage-sama. Now if you do not mind I need to get some rest. Im still recovering from the fight with pain."
Kakashi slowly leaves while Tsunade lays back down in her bed. As Tsunade falls assleep one last thought goes through her head as she flashes back to Jiraiya as she last saw him.
Tsunade thinking: "Oh if only you were here Jiraiya. You would know what to do."

Naruto is wandering through Konoha at night when he suddenly sees a distant looming shadow seem to reach out at him from a distance away. Suddenly snakes move all around him and restraining him as he sees Kabuto moving towards him from the distance. Naruto struggles to reach for his kunai. Kabuto waves his finger at him.
Kabuto: "Relax Naruto. I am not here to kill you. I come to you now as an ally seeking to offer you a deal in exchange for a favor."
Naruto: "What will this favor cost me exactly?"
Kabuto: "Removal of the bounty placed on my head by Konoha.
Naruto: "And in return what do I get?"
Kabuto: "The one weapon Orochimaru was gonna use if the power of the Uchiha was too great to eliminate by physical means."
Kabuto reveals a vial containing a purple fluid. Kabuto stands face to face with Naruto only an inch or two away from his face.
Kabuto: "A specificly designed genetic virus to do one thing and one thing only, rob the uchiha of the greatest weapon, their eyes."
Naruto reaches his kunai but suddenly he finds himself all alone on the street with no one in sight.
Kabuto: "That is my offer. I will await your decision."
490: Changing of the Guard

488 Badon

[People are running from a burning building, screaming is heard]

unknown narrator: Mom!! Dad!!
unknown man: Come on, we’ve got to go!! Those konoha shinobi will be back any moment!!
unknown woman: I’m not leaving without our son!
unknown man: If we don’t get out of here now, we’ll–

[Man is eviscerated, woman screams. Next frame, the woman is looking at the narrator, holding her hand out and saying "run..."]
[Danzo's stern face flashes by]

[frame is black, licking sound in the background]
[frame is still black]

Sakura: Akamaru, get off Sai! Kiba, wake up and take care of your dog!
[frame appears, Sakura is shaking Lee]
Sakura: Lee, Kiba, Sai, get up you guys, we’re going back to the village!
Sai: What… what happened??

Sakura: I… (thinks about how she failed to stop Sasuke) I’ll tell you all about it when we get back to the village
Sai: You weren’t able to stop him, were you?
Kiba: :groggily starts to wake up: What? Stop who? Where’s my dog biscuits…
Lee: (jumps up) Sai! How dare you interfere with our mission to stop Sasuke!
Sai: I only wanted to protect you guys…

Sakura: [interrupting] Lee, Kiba, Sai, I’m sorry. It’s all my fault, I didn’t mean to hurt you, but we have to hurry back to the village now, Kakashi and Naruto went on ahead.
Sai: As long as everyone’s alright, I’m relieved.. (wipes off his brow, wonders again why he’s sweating if he isn’t supposed to feel any emotions, remembers for a brief moment the face of the woman holding out her arm to him)

Kabuto scene
[Kabuto is running down a hall and looking into a room]

Kabuto (thinking): It has to be around here somewhere..
[Kabuto looks into the next room and sees a bunch of bookshelves]

Kabuto (thinking): Aha, it must be there with the rest of the scrolls. These Waterfall ninja sure have been cooperative to tell me the correct building… I guess it didn’t hurt that I used one of Orochimaru’s jutsu on them [kukuku].. now, which one is it
[Kabuto is going through the scrolls]

Anko scene
Anko (thinking): What are you doing in the waterfall village, Kabuto?? Did you think Orochimaru left one of his experiments here?

[rustling leaves catch her attention]
[Anko throws a kunai into the bush]
Anko: Come out, I know you’re in there, dogs of Danzou!

[shinobi are seen in the shadows]
masked shinobi #1: We should’ve known one of orochimaru’s disciples would’ve detected us.
masked shinobi #2: It’s no matter.. we should just take her out like danzo ordered.
Anko: If you think I’ll go down so easily, you’ve got another thing coming!

[The unknown shinobi are engulfed in a genjutsu, snakes swirl all around them, hissing and spitting venom that melts through their masks as they scream]
Anko: Now, tell me about Danzo.

Killer Bee scene
Bee (thinking): Oi, now I gotta come up with some stuff that rhymes with shark so I can make full use of this new sword I have.

Hachibi: God, why can’t you just give the rap thing a break. I’m tired too, can’t you just sleep so I can recover my chakras?

Bee (thinking): This sword’s just holding onto them for you, can’t you tell? If I go to sleep with this thing, who knows what might happen! I guess I should put it in brothers armory for now…

Hachibi: Don’t you notice something strange about this sword, Bee?

Bee (thinking): Strange? Thing’s crazy! It steals your enemy’s chakra and becomes bigger and heavier because of it! I can’t wait to try it out in the proving grounds, I hope brother lets me go..

Hachibi: That’s not it. I sense more than just the samehada chakra in this. We should have it inspected by a sensor so we know what it’s capable of before we leave it alone somewhere.

Bee (thinking): You’re just overthinking it, don’t have a cow, cow-man!

[Bee leans against a rock and leans the sword down next to him]
Bee (thinking): I haven’t had a rest since that uchiha kid made me go all out

Hachibi: He made you go all out!? You can’t lie to me, Bee, you were just having fun at my expense!

Bee (thinking): You never want me to have any fun, whether it’s rapping or fighting you’d rather just sit around and chew cud. Now just gimme a break while I nap..

Hachibi: Fine, but don’t blame me when this sword goes all haywire on you!

Sasuke and Madara scene:
[Madara is walking down a dark hall, Sasuke behind him with a dim light at the end of the tunnel behind them]
Madara: It’ll take a week for you to adjust to your new eyes, after the transplant. I need to know that you will take it easy and relax until then.

Sasuke: Keh, worry about yourself. I’ll be able to tell when I’m ready to fight again.

Madara: I know you think you will be, but there’s still more you will need to know to use the EMS effectively. Like I said, you’ve been using Susano’o far too liberally, and there are tricks you can use to extend your stamina.

Sasuke: I thought you said this EMS had no degredation.

Madara: Just because you won’t wear out the eyes, doesn’t mean you won’t wear out your body if you overuse them like you have been. You used to rely on the cursed seal and then orochimaru’s essence, but now that you’re free of those shackles, you have to learn to use less costly techniques if you want to be able to defeat your enemy.

Madara (thinking): I’m glad he’s so enthusiastic about this fight, I was worried that Kyuubi boy might have learned the secret of 16 years ago and used it to sway Sasuke but it’s clear there’s no way he could be changed now.. kukuku

Naruto: Kakashi, I’ve wanted to ask you something ever since I fought with Pain.
Kakashi: ?

Karin (thinking): Uzumaki Naruto… defeated Madara’s most powerful soldier, Pain, all by himself… This guy has more chakra than I’ve ever felt before..
Naruto: What was my father like… you know, before he was responsible for the village?

Kakashi: Your father… the fourth hokage was the wisest, bravest shinobi who had a heart as large as your own. He was my leader, my role model, the person I would like to have emulated most of all the shinobi in the village. Everyone knew he would become hokage when he came of age..

Karin (thinking): Even his father was hokage!? I’d heard stories about the fourth hokage and how it used to be if you saw him on the battlefield, everyone was ordered to run, but I never heard anything about his son…

Naruto: Well, what I mean is, did he ever have friends? What about his companions and family, whatever happened to them? I was raised alone, and noone even told me my dad was hokage. Did that mean nobody even knew I was going to be born?

Kakashi: Well, your father spent much of his youth outside the village, learning techniques from the toads and from the elders in your mothers’ village. Most of his close friends were from there, now that I think about it…

Naruto: My mothers’ village? I haven’t heard anything about that place, where is it?

Kakashi: It doesn’t exist anymore. The village of whirlpools used to be a beautiful place in the south, with rich farm lands that stretched from shore to shore, with wildlife teeming everywhere. But it was lost in the war…

Naruto: What about the rest of my family? My mother, my relatives, where are they?
Kakashi: No one knows what happened to Kushina when Minato sealed the Kyuubi, we all assumed she died that day…

Naruto: But you don’t know for sure!?
Karin: Once upon a time, I met a woman a lot like you… Naruto…

488: The path of strength

Sasuke is laying in a hospital bed sweating profusely writhing in pain as he grips his hands around a bandage on his eye. Madara is watching nearby as the process takes place. Sasuke leans up to look at Madara while gripping the rails on the side of his bed.
Sasuke: "How long is this process going to take? I never thought there would be so much pain involved."
Madara: "For me it took years to completely eliminate the pain but you never truly get past it some times."
Sasuke: "What is happening to me?"
Madara: "Right now your chakra network is undergoing an intense strain as it attempts to adapt itself to unlimited usage of the mangekyo sharingan. During that time your body will rewire your chakra network so that pathways near the upper part of your body are stronger while the rest are significantly lessened. This way the amount of chakra you can access is signficantly increased as is the regeneration process."
Sasuke: "So I will be even stronger than before?"
Madara: "To a degree yes but you must remember that chakra strength doesnt mean physical strength. In that department Naruto far exceeds you which is why you must keep the fight at a distance when possible otherwise Naruto will easily be able to defeat you."
Sasuke thinking: "I will kill you this time Naruto."
Sasuke screams in agony as veins begin to bulge near his eyes.

Naruto is laying in bed when he hears a tapping sound on his window. Naruto curiously looks out the window to see Fukusaku and Ma Toad. Naruto opens the window in surprise as they come in and sit next to him.
Fukusaku: "I heard about what is happening with Sasuke and Madara. You are heading into a dangerous situation."
Naruto: "I know. Im certain I can beat Sasuke but Im not so sure about Madara. I just can't hit him."
Fukusaku: "Madara is indeed a difficult opponent but that is why I have come here. I have come to give you this."
Fukusaku hands Naruto a scroll and he opens it to reveal some kind of odd map. Fukusaku points to an inscription at the top as Naruto opens the map.
Naruto: "This is my final will and testament to my young sons. If you are reading this than my efforts to defeat the juubi have failed. I made this scroll as a possible way for you to carry on my legacy and defeat the evil that has befallen us. Atop the mountain in this map is a cave containing all my knowledge I acquired from my years of training. If you wish to follow in my footsteps than you are best to visit this cave."
Fukusaku: "I had long believed that there would never be a need to unearth such a holy place as a depository of knowledge from the first sage but if there is a way to defeat Madara this place will help you find that."
The door to Naruto's room opens to reveal Kakashi and Yamoto. Kakashi looks at Fukusaku and then at the map.
Kakashi: "What is this?"
Fukusaku closes up the map and looks up at Kakashi. Fukusaku has a stern look on his face as does Ma Toad.
Fukusaku: "This map is only for those of the chosen path to see."
Kakashi: "I was just curious. I overheard what Naruto was talking about and wondered what was on that map."
Fukusaku: "Naruto I think the time has come for us to leave. You can not trust information like this to others. Ma are you ready?"
Ma Toad nods her head while Kakashi reaches for the map.
Fukusaku: "Reverse summoning Jutsu!"
Suddenly an explosion of smoke occurs as Kakashi tries to wipe away the smoke to reveal Naruto is gone with Fukusaku, Ma Toad, and the map.
Kakashi: "So do you think that map could in fact have been something from the first sage?"
Yamoto: "Its possible but then how are we gonna explain this to the others. Naruto has gone off on a treasure hunt?"
Kakashi: "Naruto has gone off to train at Myobuzokan."

Naruto finds himself with Ma and Pa toad at a small valley with a huge mountain in the distance.
Naruto: "Where are we? Is this it?"
Fukusaku: "This is as far as we have been able to go in terms of finding what is at the end of the map. The trouble is finding the cave which is suggested in there. It seems to be almost impossible to find."
Naruto: "I think I can fix that."
Naruto summons several hundred clones and they begin to search the mountain. The clones are searching all over when one of them suddenly disperses for no reason. The others investigate and suddenly Naruto smiles as he looks at Fukusaku.
Naruto: "Found it. It seems to have some kind of barrier jutsu protecting the entrance though so I can't get in."
Fukusaku and Ma Toad climb on Naruto's shoulders.
Fukusaku: "Lets all go to there."
Naruto climbs up the mountain and nearly falls once but manages to make it to the cave. Naruto looks at the entrance and Ma Toad looks at Naruto with an odd stare.
Ma Toad: "Something on you is glowing."
Naruto reaches over into his pocket and pulls out the map which is glowing.
Fukusaku: "The map must be the way past the barrier."
Naruto touches the map to the barrier and suddenly it vanishes away revealing a small cave with a lot of books and scrolls. Suddenly a movement occurs from the other end of the cave. An old voice calls out.
Voice: "Is that you boys? I have been awaiting a long time for you. What took you so long to....Hey who are you?!"
Out in the distance a large figure walks forward. A large turtle walks forward on its hind legs towards them.
Turtle: "Who are you and what are you doing here? This place is only meant for decendants of the first sage."
Fukusaku: "We came here in search of the knowledge of first sage."
The Turtle walks over and looks at Fukusaku.
Turtle: "Ahh now I can see you better. Ahh two decendants of the toad ninjas. I can see it was a good idea after all to train your people. And this is..."
The turtle looks Naruto in the eye and suddenly he jumps back in surprise his eyes wide with shock.
Turtle: "My great sincere apologies. I didn't recognize it after so many centuries of breeding. A decendant of the Senju. Im glad at least someone of your bloodline made it here instead of Uchiha."
Fukusaku: "And who are you exactly?"
Turtle starts to laugh and then winks at them.
Turtle: "I am just like you only several generations removed. I am the first turtle sage. The pet of the First Sage. I am Leatherhide."
Fukusaku, Ma Toad, and Naruto are all shocked at whom they are talking to. The turtle giggles to itself as it stands there looking at their reactions.

Kakashi's Thoughts


Kakashi looks out from the window into the horizon. The day is already at an end and the sun is setting down. He can see the shadows of Konoha gates creeping longer and longer towards Konoha. Today, he has seen to the preparations of the gates defenses. It is a very tiring day indeed.

Gate defense logistics and watch assignments have to be monitored and kept recorded. Kakashi has to see to it personally. Such was the work one cannot afford to neglect. But even though it has busied his schedule for the whole day, his mind was on totally different matters.

Tsunade. When will she wake up? His assignment as hokage hasn't been formalized still. It has been a week since their arrival at Konoha, but things are not going smoothly with the remaining 2 elders. Ironic that they want an immediate replacement of Tsunade when Danzou was still alive. Now they play their ball game, delaying the votes to be casted. But a lot of work has to be done, Konoha needs to be strong. Stronger. Temporary or no, he has the job of the hokage right now. But he still wish for the best. Tsunade has to wake up.

Karin. The girl has been keeping secrets. She doesn't want to be associated with Sasuke anymore, he understands that. Sasuke almost killed her. She actually hates Sasuke in Kakashi's opinion. But she doesn't want to betray Sasuke. She loves him. Should they break her so she will speak? Ibiki is the right man for the job. But they still haven't tried letting her speak with Naruto. Perhaps Naruto's "come to the good side" no jutsu can convince her. Yes they can try that tomorrow. Naruto has to speak with her before he leaves.

It seems the kid has decided to go back to Myobukuzan. That is the wisest decision he has ever made. Naruto is the game for this war. Akatsuki has serious plans of capturing him. And the safest place Naruto can be is in Mt. Myobukuzan. That made Kakashi wonder, If Akatsuki is really serious of capturing Naruto, why hasn't Madara? It seems Madara is playing a different game. "Why haven't i thought of this before?". But kakashi set aside that thought for a different day. War has been declared. Preparations has to be made.

Sakura. Poor girl. Her resolve was totally shattered. That last confrontation with Sasuke has proved to be a total disaster. She had every chance of dealing the death blow, but didn't. Kakashi can't blame her, she still loves Sasuke afterall. But why did she have to go so far as faking a confession to Naruto. Something needs to be done with her and fast. Tsunade has to wake up and beat her to her senses. Shizune has to deal with her for now.

Time to pack up now. Kakashi leaves the Hokage's chambers and closes the door. He can clearly remember the bluff Madara made. Kamui, He could have tried at least. He has lost a lot of his edge lately. Rin. He lost her already. He let the thought go. In his mind he is determined. He should step up his game. He will not lose anymore.

Looking towards the gate, the sun was already down. Darkness is already coming fast. As kakashi turns to go, he felt the shivers, and then a large explosion follows. He looks back. The gate, it is in shambles and he can see from the smoke that clouds the entrance of Konoha, 7 giant fingerlike shapes sliver in the early night sky. Kakashi looked shocked. There's no mistaking it. Those are 7 giant snakes.

-Preparations for War

[Kabuto invades the hidden Waterfall Village. What is he planning?]

(The three shinobi that were restrained by Kabuto’s snakes, dies… Kabuto then tosses their bodies across the pavement and withdraws his snakes.)

Kabuto: Now, to find this village’s leader… After I kill him, I will convince the Damiyou of this country to make me this village’s leader. He, he, he… And with the experimental subjects, and all of Orochimaru-sama’s bases under my direct command, I can put up quite the resistance here… No one will interfere with my projects.

Kabuto (in thought): I will surpass Orochimaru-sama… I will continue his research and take his studies further than he could ever hope to… There are still unsolved mysteries surronding jutsu… I must solve them all… I must… I’ll need more than a life time, several times more… Chakra consumption for jutsu, handseals for molding jutsu, how long it takes to learn jutsu based off the individual’s skill level, and the complications of implanting bloodline based jutsu into subjects…

There are so many equations, so many possible outcomes… There must be potentially thousands of combinations. I must know all of the equations… I must know the true extent to jutsu’s growth. That is the only way to surpass Orochimaru-sama….

(Kabuto makes a grin, and then a long prehensile tongue sags out of his mouth, much like Orochimaru’s did. The scene switches over to Konoha. Shikaku, Kakashi, and Shikamaru walks out of the Konoha hospital shack and into the streets of the village.)

Kakashi: It seems Madara was tight-lipped… We didn’t get anything we didn’t already know out of her…

Shikaku: Although, I wish things could have gone better, it’s good to see that you’ve come out on top as the Hokage… We sure as hell didn’t want that old hound calling the shots….

Shikamaru: Is it true that Sasuke took care of Danzou too? Mannn… That guy’s becoming a real handful… It’s getting harder and harder to relate with Naruto after hearing that. But I heard Sakura contributed to a lot of confusion… Gosh, women are so-… (Shikaku punches him.)
HEYYY!

Shikaku: Watch what you speak!

Shikamaru: I’m just sayin! Geesh!

Kakashi: Shikamaru… Considering you worked well for Tsunade, and Shizune is tasked with overseeing Sakura’s training, I was wondering if you’d help me with the paper work, security checking, and battlefield plans that I need help with… I know you’re more than capable…

Shikamaru: *sigh* What a drag… (Shikaku places his hand on Shikamaru’s shoulder.)

Shikaku: Do it son… It’s not like we go to war every day, or something…

Shikamaru: Gee, thanks dad… You make it seem like that’s some sort of thing to get excited over.

(The scene switches over to Danzou’s lair underground… Hyou is giving a speech to his fellow Root, who fills the chamber.)

Hyou: We have just received word of Danzou-sama’s unfortunate passing. It was done by the hands of Uchiha Sasuke! (The crowd is in uproar. Sai can also be seen in the crowd somewhere… The panel focuses on Sai [he has his mask on, like all the rest].)

Sai (in thought): Danzou, dead… Is that even possible? But by Sasuke no less… I’m sorry Naruto… I’m unsure if I can help you this time… Not when my unit wants revenge… (The panel focuses back on Hyou.)

Hyou: WE WILL KEEP CALM! THIS IS NOT THE WAY ROOT BEHAVES. (The crowd silences.) Good. We have not received word on the condition of Fuu and Torune… We will also assume the worst for them… As always, we work in the dark… We will not conform to the Hokage’s orders… We will have our revenge on Uchiha Sasuke… But, we will do it discreetly, to avoid any conflict with the public. This meeting will be adjourned.

(The Scene switches over to the Sakura and Shizune’s location. They are somewhere out in the fields.)

Shizune: You are going to be needed more than ever in this situation. As a medical ninja, you will be on the field saving lives… You may also have to escort the wounded to recovery platforms quickly.

Sakura: I know, I understand…

Shizune: For that reason, it is really important that you refine your medical ninjutsu… I’m not Tsunade, but I can surely help you in that that regard…

Sakura: Yes, I understand. (She pictures Tsunade. The Scene switches over to another open field. Two of Naruto’s Shadow clones can be seen gathering natural energy… Two other shadow clones can be seen fighting each other. A short distance away, the real Naruto is sweating a little.)

Naruto (in thought): I have to keep trying… And keep my concentration… (Naruto makes the ram handseal and instantly goes into the 4th tailed state, but just the cloak, not the bloody, beastly form. Soon Yamato drops in from behind.)

Yamato: So that’s what I was feeling… (4 tailed Naruto turns around to face Yamato.)

Naruto: Yamato Sensei? (Naruto falls out of the 4th tailed state and falls on his ass. He begins to sweat.)

Yamato: Looks like you’ve gotten the hang of it a little.

Naruto: I can only take it this far while keeping control… Damn it!

Yamato: How about I help you out?…

Naruto: But aren’t you tasked with fixing up the village? I don’t want to be a burden…

Yamato: Nahh, it’s fine and I’m on break… I actually kind of miss these days…

Naruto: Sensei…

(The scene switches over to outside the Akatuski base… Sasuke is standing in the fields… The ground around him has smoke rising up from it. Madara appears behind him.)

Madara: You’ve been practicing for a while now… You’ve most certainly taken a liking to them…

(Sasuke turns around; his Mangekyou is a mixture of Itachi and his own patterns.)

Sasuke: Konoha will be crushed… And most of all, him… (Madara’s eye rises with excitement. The scene switches over to Mizugakure… Insider her office, she sits at the desk (the door flies open, and several mysterious figures’ shadows can be seen.)

Mizukage: The sevenmist swordsmen. Perfect, our formations will revolve around you… (The scene switches over to Sunagakure… Gaara is having an audience with one division of shinobi troops [who are plentiful].)

Gaara: This division is tasked with the protection of the two hosts. You’re top priority is to barricade Uzumaki Naruto and the Hachibi of Kumogakure… Don’t let a single attack get through… I’m certain the other hidden villages will provide us with support in that regard…
